How can this be in my chart?

I just downloaded a copy of my medical records from my primary care provider, but I need to explain that I have never allowed any physical contact between us and have never removed a stitch of clothing. I do have this fetish, but I am a survivor of sexual abuse in a medical setting and nothing but panicked in a real life setting. At any rate the question is that in my medical records, I read that I was circumcised. While that’s true, there’s really no way she could have that information unless she inferred it because of my religion.

Does anyone have any insight as to whether that’s how it got into my chart and if not, how and why is it there?

They may have seen prior medical records online depending on where you live and what country you live in. After I was circumcised in my 40s providers would ask about it prior to genital exams and then check my penis to see how it went. I even got asked last year about it although I don't think they check me now for that reason unless its a curiosity factor?

Like Badgy1 said, it probably came in from charting done by another doctor where that info was recorded or otherwise relevant.

This really depends on what kind of relationship you have with your doctor, but you could always ask. If you feel comfortable talking about your past with them it might help them provide more sensitive care. Of course it’s completely your choice and you should do what makes you comfortable.

Doctors sometimes just check boxes, as unethical as that sounds I've looked at many after visit summaries from doctors who indicated areas that were assessed that never were.

I think sometime, somewhere a Doctor or other medical professional just checked the box randomly. (Not truly knowing,)
