If circumcised, is your circumcision scar straight around or uneven?

My hubby's is pretty uneven, it apparently got done by an ENT surgeon while he was under for tonsils and adenoids

@clairesnips Why did they also have to circumcise him?

Interesting @clairesnips that in the past they would do a circumcision at the same time as another surgery to be efficient. "while he is under we may as well get it done", especially as he missed out earlier. I guess the ENT specialist could do it too but maybe not as cosmetically effient as someone who was more experienced.

Mine is fairly straight around but not symmetrical if that makes sense, one side is very smooth and not particularly noticeable (almost like a RIC scar), the other side has quite obvious stitch marks.

Phimosis

Yes, it was done in a regional centre, so while the guy was an ENT surgeon, he did all sorts of little snips and tucks too.. cosmetically it isn't terrible, but I have seen some much neater ones 😃 But I won't tell him that

@clairesnips Oh dear. The parents had waited until then hesitating about having him circumcised for phimosis, and they thought "hey why not do both at the same time"?

Am circumcised, but no clue where scars are !!!!

I was circumcised at birth. My scar is straight around and not very noticeable. It never really even occured to me that I had a scar until zity brought it to my attention.

@justdan49 It may be that you were circumcised "low", with a scar very close to the glans, and thus unnoticeable.

Thank you

On the dorsal view (from above), my circ scar is quite even and goes straight across very symmetrically, perpendicular to the shaft of my penis and at a consistent distance (just over an inch) from the corona of my glans. On the ventral view (from below), it's pretty uneven. The scar continues roughly straight from its line around the right side of my penis, and then it angles upward (closer to the glans as it approaches the midline where my frenulum was removed). It continues at this angle beyond the midline and then on the left ventral side it "jogs" down about an inch to meet the straight line on the other side. It's actually the most indistinct and hard to see around this jog. In most places it's not really noticeable or palpable as scar tissue but it does show up as an abrupt change in the skin color. I'm not sure what all this means in terms of what method may have been used for my RIC? (all measurements at full erection).

@atthecollegedoc sounds like a mogen clamp to me.

I was circumcised at birth, 1997.

My scar is pretty uneven, mainly on the dorsal side (the top when viewed from above).

On the dorsal top side, I have a kind of a V-shaped scar, where the shaft skin extends and nearly touches the base of my glans, indicating a total removal of the foreskin in that area.

The scar gradually recedes backwards as I look to the sides.

Probably it's because the clamp used to circumcise me as an infant wasn't placed perfectly even on my foreskin, and so when the doctor started to cut my foreskin away it took off all the foreskin from the top while leaving slightly more residual skin on the bottom.

Overall, the scar line is very visible and there is a clear color difference between the sides of the scar.

In any case, it doesn't really bother me.

You can barely see that I’m circumcised. No scars.
