Cremasteric or Bulbocavernous Reflex Examination

Has anyone ever experienced this procedure? Either in a real examination role play examination?

The cremasteric reflex is a superficial (skin) reflex observed in human males. It is elicited by lightly stroking or poking the superior and medial (inner) part of the thigh, which triggers an immediate contraction of the cremaster muscle, pulling the testicle on the same side upward toward the inguinal canal.

The bulbocavernous n males, it is elicited by squeezing the glans penis; in females, by squeezing the clitoris. An alternative method involves a quick tug on an indwelling Foley catheter to stimulate the bladder neck.

Effector Response: The response is a visible or palpable contraction of the external anal sphincter and/or the bulbocavernosus muscle.

Would be nice to experience in a play exam.

I've had this done in play exams and it certainly is a nice feeling. The first time it was done; without warning; while i was on all fours with the doc's finger in my anus he suddenly pinched my glans and i instantly felt my anus squeeze his finger quite tightly. It was a bit of a shock, but he then told me that he doesn't warn his patients he is going to do it, as it can cause you to react differently and give an unnatural response. I did find that as a result, my very strong erection did briefly loose some of its rigidity, but it soon returned!

Having looked up details of the reflex, it can be used to help determine nerve damage, as a slow reaction (delayed / absent anal contraction) can be an indication of nerve damage.

All of this should be part of a thorough play exam!

I had the cremasteric reflex checked one time that I remember as a boy.

I have actually had both done at one point by my urologist who is a female. It was quick but a really good feeling

Great example starting around 11:00

@intruder thanks for the video example. Coital sensory input from dorsal penile nerves and scrotal innervation feeds into spinal segments L1–L2, the same segments controlling the cremasteric reflex. This determines the contraction of testicles inside the scrotum as shown in this wonderful video.

About the BCR I have it checked several times in urology lab. Usually it was done with a gloved finger in the anus and a squeeze of the glans but I also had a glans surface electrode and a rectal probe for accurated latency measurement.

I have had the bulbocavernous reflex exam done a few years back.

My urologist and done a prostate/rectal exam and I guess he was a little concerned about my anal tone. He told me that he as going to “test a reflex” and had me (pants and underwear down below my knees already) roll over on my side facing him. He then reached over me a stuck his gloved finger back in my rectum. He then squeezed the head of my penis with his other hand.

He was satisfied with the result, but it was the most awkward rectal exam that I have ever had.

Yes..performed both as 'doctor' in role play
