Is there advantage to sugaring pubes?

So three engineers, one electrical, one mechanical and one civil were discussing what kind of engineer God might be. The electrical guy insisted God was and EE because of the amazing complexity of the nervous system. The ME was sure that God was part of his group because of the marvelous system of joints and muscles working in concert. The Civil Engineer won the argument when he pointed out that no one but a Civil Engineer would propose installing a sewer line through a prime recreational area.

That grin out of the way, (hope it didn't break the rules), many of us like to keep that prime recreational area free of hair. From experience I can tell you that either shaving or electric clippers can nick or cut the sensitive skin thereabouts. Absolutely not fun! Particularly if you are doing this yourself, its not an easy area in which to operate sharp implements. Sugaring or waxing involves a significant amount of pain and/or inconvenience which leaves depilatory applications, This seems almost too easy. Apply the product, let it settle a while, and rinse off the hair. So, if you have tried this, is there some disadvantage that makes it less often used? Is it irritating or in some other way unpleasant? Yes, I know there is laser and electrolysis treatments, but they are not really an option for those of us that are just looking for a kinky bare look. The hair by hair treatment costs are pretty substantial.

I've never used a chemical hair remover there, but I'm seeing an interesting dichotomy.

While manufacturers are saying, yes, buy our products, it's perfectly safe for outer labia, people who've tried it report it's impossible to apply it without touching the edge of the inner labia, where it burns; other say the thin, sensitive skin of the labia cannot handle the chemicals without great irritation. So it's not a method I'd try.
