There’s a couple threads elsewhere I’ve followed in examinations about turn-on words in medicals and phrases they like to hear during exams. Mostly, I like to say things that will make a patient’s stomach flutter or heart skip a beat, so these are a great source for … ammunition, as it were 😏
So here’s a few phrases that I enjoy saying during a role play exam to inspire that feeling:
“I’d like to do a quick internal exam, just to be sure.”
“I’m going to lower your panties now so I can take a closer look, if that’s all right?”
“Try to relax…”
“Lots of pressure now…”
“Try to keep your knees relaxed and wide open for me.”
“This part is a little bit uncomfortable…”
“That’s great, you’re doing so well. Just a few minutes more…”
“You’re going to feel my finger on your bottom…”
“Bear down for me, just like you’re on the toilet…”
“Good girl!”
Basically, anything I can say in a minimum of words that triggers the patient’s minor fight-or flight reaction where they know it’s going to end up with them feeling something extremely unusual due to the sensation or level of embarrassment, is what I strive for.
So, question to everyone else - what do you enjoy saying during exams? Why, what’s your objective? What are the feeling you’re trying to trigger when you do?
