Making the right choice to wear a gown for gynecological exam or not

I’m trying to convince my wife to refuse any kind of gown or covering during her exam. I want her to be completely naked.

Gentlemen, have you ever tried to convince your wives, or would you at least like them to make that choice?

Well I have worn an exam gown for my exams because it is how it is done if a woman goes privately for an exam but it would not bother me if I was just nude because I find the gowns fiddly and just a nuisance really. My gynecologist sees everything anyway so I would not mind if he saw me nude but that would be what I chose.

But I do not think it would be ok if a lady's partner has put pressure on her to not wear a gown if really she did want to wear one.

I’m in agreement with @Amethyst. I’d be annoyed at my hubby if he tried to pressure me to do something I wasn’t comfortable with. Additionally, it’s not cool to push your fantasy onto the medical staff. If they want you to wear a gown, you should wear a gown. They’re doctors and nurses, not prostitutes. You’re paying them for medical help, not sex.

I personally get annoyed when members post about exposing themselves beyond what is asked for in the exam. It’s crossing a line. Consent.

+1 on the comments here - real life exams are not for acting out your fantasies. Follow the medical staff protocol.

That said, if you really want this to happen, get your exam in France. Its culturally expected and normal over there, so you'll get your wish

Something needs to be clear: trying to convince is very different from putting pressure.

Here in the US there have been many lawsuits against male doctors for inappropriate pelvic exams so I would probably dress/undress to what the nurse or medical assistant asks for so you don't put your doctor into an awkward position. Depending on the type of visit there can be plenty of time to be undressed, but no legitimate provider here is expecting patients to be nude upon entering the room especially in an opposite sex situation.

Yes, you are right, respect is very important.

That's why I believe that the doctor has to agree before the exam begins.

I agree with other members about taking your kink/fetish into a real medical exam is wrong. Exams happen with gowns, coverings, to assist in any possible inappropriate behavior by a medical professionals. Don't waste a medical professional's time by asking. If they agreed, I'd have great concerns.

You would do better to find a play doctor to fulfill your interests and sexual interests.

@MissStress I couldn't agree more about keeping real medical exams & sexual fetish ones separate. Unfortunately over the past four years I have had to have several colonoscopies which I guess a lot of folks here would enjoy in a play situation. Trust me when it's for real you are scared so shitless of what they might find that no erotic thoughts whatsoever enter your mind. Happily I have come out recently with a good clear result & no further examinations required. Sadly it has for some reason diminished my desires for anal fun. This is a very US centric view. There are plenty of professional doctors outside the US who perform exams without gowns.

If the doctor and the patient are in mutual agreement, I see no ethical violation on the doctor’s part, nor any disrespect from the patient.

There’s nothing wrong when there’s dialogue and consensus among everyone involved, in this case, me, my wife, and the doctor.

I also agree with Gostoso and Michael. I have never heard that someone uses gowns around here. Some people from US tend to think that the whole world has the same rules as them, which is not the case.

I assume if your wife will go to full physical exam, that at one point at the end of exam, she will be asked to disrobe, and I guess then she can remove all her clothes. It would be considered normal in Southern Europe, I really don't know about Brazil.

@Proton123 unfortunately, here in Brazil, the use of gowns and sheets to cover patients' bodies is common.

That is precisely why I want to find a male doctor with whom I can dialogue and reach an agreement for my wife to be examined completely nude, without any type of covering.

Gowns are normal. And personally I would feel to expose in front of a doctor without any clothes on.

I agree with those who have said that your sexual fantasy and your wife's actual medical care need to be entirely separate. If you want to see her examined nude, go to med school. Or see if she'll play doctor-and-patient with you. I don't think any ethical physician in a place where gowns are the norm is going to agree, either.

Besides, don't you want the most competent physician you can get for her care rather than the guy who says, "Yeah, naked's good--it's great!"

If you really want to see your wife examined nude, it would be best to seek out a play doc. If that isn’t feasible, for example you can’t find one within a reasonable distance from where you live, then do what I do. Set up your own at home “clinic”.

I bought one of those portable, folding massage tables, and built my own removable stirrups for it. You can buy speculums online easily nowadays. Same goes for exam table paper. Butcher paper makes a good substitute if you can’t find any to buy. Gloves, lube, and other basic medical supplies such as a blood pressure cuff, etc. are easy to find.

My wife and I frequently perform play exams on each other. Usually the exams are realistic, sometimes we are in the mood for “would never happen in real life” exams. The possibilities are endless when you perform play exams on each other. And the sex afterwards is mind blowingly fantastic!

The portable folding massage table with removable stirrups stows away easily, so we don’t need to have a locked “secret room” to keep our play exam fantasies private. We set up in a spare bedroom that also is used as my wife’s home office for the day or two a week she works remotely. Anyone coming over would have no idea the spare bedroom/home office doubles as an exam room!

There is no aspect of my wife’s sexual life, nor any medical condition, that would require me to be concerned about the gynecologist’s competence. From a medical standpoint, this is a non-essential consultation.

Therefore, what is truly relevant at this moment is the manner in which the examination is conducted — in this case, with her completely nude and without any gown.
