Rectal thermometer in freezer

When taking your rectal temperature, have you ever had the thermometer placed in the freezer for a few minutes to increase its effectiveness? Did you enjoy receiving the frozen thermometer?

No. However when I used to receive drugs as suppositories, they would be stored in the refrigerator so that they would be hard and not melt so easily in my mother's fingers. (This seems to have been a common approach, I've seen several other people on Zity mentioning this.)

I often place the thermometer in cold water for a few minutes.

You can create a cool effect without such extremes. Place the thermometer in the refrigerator. The freezer may cause micro cracks in the glass, when removing it to room temperature. Medical vintage thermometers are pretty delicate. The human body is what they were designed for.

I would not put a thermometer that was frozen into a rectum because I would worry that it might hurt or cause damage, especially if it were frozen solid. Perhaps even shatter due to the warmth that is inside of a bottom. A thermometer kept in the refrigerator would be nice and the recipient would feel the coolness in every millimeter while I enjoy observing it sliding in and out of a tight little hole 😉 🌡️🍑

Another problem with putting the thermometer in the fridge/freezer before hand would be it would take longer to register. Oh No!!!

I wouldn't put a thermometer in the freezer. Could get damaged. But sometimes I wet the thermometer under cold water in the bathroom sink. The water is a surprisingly good lubricant and it feels so nice when I slide the wet thermometer into my asshole.

Yes I have had one used on me that has been in the freezer. Obviously this was just for play exams, so effectiveness doesn’t really matter. He does it to make it more shocking. I love the cold intrusion!

It seems to me that, when you have a fever, the difference between your body temperature and that of the thermometer is greater, so the room-temperature thermometer feels colder when it is inserted. By chilling the thermometer by a few degrees ahead of time, I guess you could recreate that sensation and thus make the experience more like that of a real illness. I wouldn’t recommend the freezer, but maybe a glass of cold water would be effective!

Thermometers are best kept in the freezer. . . right next to the stethoscope.

I have tried it and it was quite pleasant. Sadly, the thermometer heated up fairly quickly.

You don’t want to “freeze “ your butt off, ( and destroy the thermometer). Try putting it in a plastic container filled with cold water, for a few minutes, and you’ll have a nice tingling sensation for the first second or two. It doesn’t last long enough, so you can just repeat it as desired.

Nope but my family used to keep Vaseline in the freezer. It wax used to coat automobile battery terminals to prevent corrosion. To this day I’m not sure why it was kept in a freezer and not the garage.

As a pre-teen and teen I used to sneak the old rectal thermometer out of the medicine cabinet and coat it with frozen Vaseline. It was quite a sensation.

I thought about keeping a rectal thermometer in the freezer to intensify the cool feeling as it's being inserted in my rear end.
