Best water for Enemas

Hey Guys,

Replying to the best water for an enema.... Back in the day all we had was plain tap water which worked well.

But now with so much I've heard about so many things being added to the filtration of public water systems I've been using distilled water.

I find I can enjoy multiple enemas for a good colon cleansing or just a good full bag to relax with and have a quicker recovery, back to normal BM.

When my mother gave me enemas she just used hot tap water, then stirred a bar of Ivory soap in it until it was milky coloured with a thick layer of suds on top.

My mom filled up her Amber latex folding syringe with good old cool tap water.... Nothing more.

ah The memories back in the good old days of taking it like a good boy.

Agree with the "drinking" standards...that should be basic consideration. Any improvement you can make on it, the better it gets...soften it if too hard, filter... I use lots of hernal infusion, so it will be boiled...most of all never trust free running waters, unless they are from a tested source.... I always boil it when out camping...

Right outta the tap from city water.

............"WET!!!!!!".........

and with a "Klick!!!!" of that little white Klip!!!!

highwater

Tap water with a tablespoon salt per liter.....

I like use the PUR water filter attached to our kitchen sink. It's supposed to remove sediments and chemicals from the tap water. I usually use it when making coffee.

And I thought I was extra for sourcing specific water for my coffee! (drinking coffee, not enema coffee).

No, my enemas come from the most convenient source of drinkable water available. Normally the nearest bathroom tap.

I do use pure olive oil for my oil retention enemas despite the price these days (120ml retained overnight if I have very hard stool, followed by a plain water enema in the morning), because it's no more expensive than pharmaceutical grade mineral oil where I am, and although regular vegetable oil would *probably* be fine, it's not been evaluated clinically in the way olive oil, peanut oil and mineral oil have and I try not to play too fast and loose with what is ultimately a medical procedure (maybe I should see if I can get cheaper peanut oil when my current bottle runs out)

During the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, a rumor was circulating that the virus had contaminated the water supply in the Portland area.

I didn’t take it seriously, but I admit using bottled spring water when our older daughter in her 30s had been very sick and asked if I would give her an enema. She felt the need to flush out her system. It was a frightening experience when she came down with the virus, and we moved her temporarily back home.

It was a second enema that resulted in such an emotional release. It proved to me that enemas can be just as mental as physical in bringing relief.

Otherwise, the tapwater here is actually good for drinking or filling an enema bag.

@Vicki_V In my opinion enemas, and colonics, give as much an emotional release as a physical one. My fabulous colonic hydrotherapist gives me a huge hug when she has finished with me.

I lived for several years in a town with notoriously bad drinking water, most likely polluted. During that time, I'd buy presumably clean gallon jugs of water that I would then heat by running through the coffee maker, mixing in more of the store-bought water to cool it to an agreeably safe temperature. Otherwise and elsewhere, I've always gone with tap water.

Tap water. No, not boiled. It’s plenty good enough to drink and it’s perfectly good for an enema.

If I were living somewhere with a dodgy water supply, I might choose differently.
