Vaginplasty- creating female genitalia WITH a functional vaginal canal.
Vulvoplasty- creating female genitalia WITHOUT vaginal canal. (zero depth)
My question is, has anyone regretted having one vs the other that had SRS bottom surgery? If so, was it mentally or physically or both? WHERE IS THIS GOING??? I'm currently starting transitioning MtF. I'm also urinary incontinent from a spinal cord injury.
I've had discussions with my gender affirmation therapist and doctor's of my transition SRS in the nearfuture. Both doctor's have recommended Vulvoplasty vs Vaginplasty because of my medical condition.
The reason being because of my spinal cord injury which has damage nerves causing my urinary incontinence. Getting a Vaginplasty it's very practical that there may not be any sensations (vaginal feeling) of any kind.
This also true with both procedures not having any sensations. Getting a Vulvoplasty is a much simpler procedure reducing many risks with shorter healing recovery. And no dilation therapy needed vs the Vaginplasty.
I would still have female appearing genitalia without a vagina.
I agreed and have accepted it with them on getting a Vulvoplasty vs Vaginplasty for what is best for me. It's not what I wanted, however it's not the end of the world.
Honestly, not having a female vagina isn't any different than now. My penis is my clitty, and my rectum is my female vagina sexualy even being lesbian.
My current plan is having the Vulvoplasty procedure after being on HRT for 1-1/2 years which I just started. If anyone one any experience or thoughts on this, Please share by posting or message me. I'm sorry if my medical terms are shady, medical terms are not my strong point.
Thanks, TG- Liz.
