This is a question for women (and also for men who wish to recount the experiences they had with women; but this is not about male preferences):

Do you need artificial lubricant for comfortable penis-in-vagina (or dildo-in-vagina) sex? Has it always been like that, or has it changed along time? (Obviously menopause may have changed the situation, for instance.) Is it always the same along your menstrual cycle? Is it different when using a condom?

(Own experience: my wife does not need it, but at the very beginning we used lubricant because she was not yet used to sex with me, and also we've used some for sex during periods after removing a tampon, as the tampon dries the vagina. I think also for sex with a condom.)

I don't always have to have it, as I prefer the friction without it, but sometimes it helps in certain situations. I have a medical condition that makes it hard for me to get aroused fully sometimes. I am into it, but my body does not pick up on the memo. Other times, I am too tight, and it helps to get him in easier. And other times, I am into it, but my mind is elsewhere because of mom stuff, and I can't get my body to cooperate.

It has been a thing off and on for me forever, but has gotten worse as my condition worsens and I get older. My hormones are all crazy after three kids, too.

With my penis, we don't need to use lube. Until I improved my bedroom skills, I'd start slow until she got the lovely juices going. I'm just below average size, so it doesn't take much to start sliding easily. There are no excuses now. I don't get inside until she's cum at least once. Condom or not, we experience similar results.

We have tried with lube a few times, but she complains the following day of feeling a little irritable down there, or there isn't enough stimulation.

If we're using dildos, they tend to be more girthy than I am, so we do occasionally use lube with them. Her juices can't seem to keep up.

I'm not circumcised either, but you should not need any lube if you warm her up (as you should) enough, she will have her own sweet lube!

My wife and I used the old KY Jelly the first few times when we got married because someone suggested it and it was the first time for both of us.

Now, nearly 50 years later, we are using lubricants again because it just makes it easier and nicer.
