Advice for leakage?

I have significant leakage when I take or get an enema. I had it before my colon surgeries, but it's much worse now. The problem is very likely caused by the way they do the reattachment surgery. Quite a bit of it has to be done "from the bottom up." When they reunite the two sections of intestine, they, insert a stapler (yes, really!) Up thru the anus into the rectum. This stapler is large. Let's just say that you wouldn't choose it as a "toy." I think that my anal sphincters, both inside & oustide, were, compromised. When I do an enema, I really leak now.

My question is, "other than using Chux or similar items, is there any thing that's been effective for your own leakage?" I currently use a Cleanstream double balloon nozzle, which sort of works, but I have to pump it up pretty big to stop the outflow--so much that it's pretty painful--the pain is OK. I can handle that. It's damage I'm concerned about, so I'd like some other answers if there are any.

Short term, your balloon nozzles are about the best you can hope for. Long term, start doing Kegel excercises, consider getting in to a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist for eval and training advice. Also consider seeing a Proctologist or Gastroenterologist for anal sphincter eval with Anorectal Manometry, Balloon Expulsion testing, and Defecography.
