Public bathroom stall changes

Seems like public bathrooms are an echo chamber, all hard surfaces that amplify sound. Something about opening tapes and the crinkle of a new diaper that seems extra loud in a public bathroom!

With the new tape taps that most premium disposable diapers are using now. They are much louder removing the tabs than the older style. The sound is even more noticeable and a public restroom.

I'll sacrifice the louder tape tabs versus the older tab styles for the holding power they provide. I haven't had any issues with the better tape tabs. It's a little awkward trying to keep the tab removing noise down. I'm sure I have been heard removing them.

Most of my public bathroom changes have been in airport or highway rest areas. Frankly when you take off the tabs on a premium diaper it can sound like a rifle shot going off in restrooms that all have solid material walls that do not absorb any noise. Even though it would seem to draw a lot of attention I have yet to have anyone say anything or even give me a funny look. Most people have no idea what taking off an adult diaper would sound like. They are busy with their own life and don”t really care. That does not seem to lower the embarrassment level for some reason.

I fly allot, so Airports are one place i change during layovers. I always use the "Family" Restrooms. Very private and roomy. Many department stores have the same. If you want to reduce the noise when changing, just ripe the tape at the tape base , leaving the sticky part on the front. It may tear a small hole on outer layer, but less noisy for sure.

I agree with the others if you are looking for a quiet change rip the tape it does work to keep things private. I also try to use family restrooms as much i can if available or if there is a stall with the changing station i will take that stall because it makes a good spot to prep diapers on the fold down changing station (i usually fluff and fold in 1/2) before putting it on and they normally have a garbage can in the stall which also make disposal private.

I also just rip them. In my country it is hard to find a family bathroom cause we don’t really have them, but we do have handicapped stalls, but you need a key to get in and that key needs to be asked for at a cashier or staff member of the facility. You will be asked why you need that key, and since I am not in a wheelchair I will have to come up with an answer that gives them a reason to believe I am rightfully using the handicapped stalls. More than once I had to tell the that I needed to change my diaper.

I do agree that it's quite loud lol.

At first I avoided removing the tapes and ripped the wings, but I have an easier time wrangling it into a disposal bag with tapes to hold the bundle in place. In heavily occupied spaces, people do so much noisy stuff in the bathroom (opening sanitary products, administering medication, digging through bags, phone and IRL conversations, etc) that I think people will just guess at the sound if they don't know it well. And I don't really mind if someone connects the dots in a public restroom, I probably won't see them again and they have no confirmation.

That said, when going to public bathrooms with a friend or using the bathroom at someone's home, I still rip the tapes! I'm too embarrassed to own it that much.

I'm not embarrassed by changing my nappy in public toilets, yes the sound of opening the tapes is very loud and i'm sure other do hear the sound, but they would be too embarrassed to say anything unless they too were into wearing nappies or diapers. and as has been said their all wrapped up in their own lives. When i go camping i wear disposables all the time and when changing in a tent you have the same issue, the sound can be heard again no one has ever said anything. Its got nothing to do with others what your wearing, so i would say crack on be happy wearing your diaper or nappy and changing when ever you need to do so

If I were in a loud airport restroom and I heard a sound like a lightning strike or any other loud popping sound, I would look around with curiosity for a moment and seeing nothing because the sound came from a stall, I would carry on with my bathroom business and be gone.

Also, I love kinks and if I knew for certain that the sound was coming from the removal of a diaper, I would say, "Awesome."

Or even more likely, "Awesome. Can I help? After all, you are standing upright which I'm guessing is not the optimal position to remove or put on a diaper and you've got your clothes to deal with and I don't know a lot about diapering adults, but I am very curious ever since I joined a website at Zity.biz and I think it's more of a two-person job, or I would like to think it should be and I am right here and available to be of assistance and my flight doesn't leave for 55 minutes because I have a very long layover and when I get nervous I tend to talk more and run my sentences together so can I help, please?"

The sum of it is that approximately 99.859 percent of people (just my rough estimate) would never suspect the sound is from a diaper being removed.

I use to worry about the sounds or setting a diaper on the floor while I’m changing cause there isn’t much room in there. I use to get really nervous. But know I honestly don’t care. In diapers wearer and I just own it anymore. If I’m caught I’m caught. Who cares. Most people are to embarrassed to ask about it if seen. And 100 of them people pretty much you’ll never see again so what’s the big deal.

Family restrooms are a plus but if not definitely lay it on the floor. It’s no one else’s business what your wearing.

Yes even I get a little nervous when using public restrooms . I usually go out in public with a butt plug in when I have to do a number 2. I often wonder of hidden cameras when I reinsert my plug.

I like to diaper up in gas station restrooms, usually smaller gas stations where it’s a single stall but in the summers it’s hard to carry a diaper in the room discreetly. I don’t carry a purse large enough for a size L diaper to not poke out.

I’ve changed in public restrooms only a few times. Very often when I tie the old one up and throw it away it’s not the only one in there.

I wear cloth diapers, the type you have to pin on. I know it hard changing cloth prefolds in a public restroom, but after many years I feel I've mastered the art. One advantage though is there is little noise involved-pins are basically noise free compared with tape. I realize not everyone can do this but for those who can, it's a great solution.
