Has anyone had sealants placed as an adult to protect their teeth?

I never had sealants as a child and my teeth are still 'virgin' (no cavities or fillings). Has anyone had sealants placed as an adult to protect their teeth? This has never been recommended by my dentists but I feel it could preserve my pearly whites for longer. My lower wisdom teeth are partially erupted and although my dentist says I'm cleaning them well, it would be good to have them sealed for piece of mind.

I had sealants as a child and had them redone as an adult. Very easy and worth it to prevent cavities!
