Bag Height

I have been receiving enemas for 35+ years and in seeing interests in this activity diminish in the S&M Community (was a common interests 35 years ago) I am working on developing a class on punishment enemas to present at S&M get togethers.

I have received enemas with the bag (top of bag) located anywhere between 2 and 6 feet above nozzle height. I have seen in this forum and other older publications suggesting the bag be no higher that 29 to 55 inches (from top of bag to nozzle height.)

Any expert input on this would be helpful. As expressed from first hand experience, I have had enemas with the top of bag up to 6 feet (72 inches) above nozzle, and while never suggesting anyone else try what I have done, would like to know safety considerations for this height and any consensus form maximum safe height (top of bag to nozzle height) so not to include anything dangerous in the class.

I hang my bag on a hook in the ceiling and use a flow wheel with adjustable shutoff. I just adjust the flow to my liking. Works for me.

How about with clamp full open: what would be the safe height for the bag (top of bag to nozzle.)

Sorry, not into giving enemas as punishment, but the bag height from the bottom of the syringe to the patient’s behind recommended by nurses is 24- to 36-inches.

In our bathrooms, the towel bar on shower doors is just the right height to hang an enema bag. You can hang the bag higher and adjust the pressure with a graduated clamp or pinching the hose.

I hang my bag about six feet high, but I have a paddle wheel so I can see how fast the flow is. I also have an inline pump that greatly reduces the flow unless it is being pumped. Along with the rachet clamp gives me complete control of the flow.

I sometimes use the paddle wheel too though do not have an in line pump so the flow, when clamp is full one, is pretty high. This enhances the effect of an enema given for punishment.

Just trying to see if such a flow is safe even though I have experienced it more time than I can count without anything bad happening beyond.

Most of the enema bags my Mom had suggested hanging them 3 feet above the rectum.

The maximum safe pressure that most medical books recommend for the colon is around 80 mm HG or 1.54 psi which equals 42.8 inches from the floor to the top of the water in the bag or bucket. I went to a very experienced colon hydrotherapist and she would go up to 2 psi for very short periods if it was necessary but would never exceed that pressure, it was the absolute red line. It’s the equivalent of having water at the top of a bag at 55.4 inches. Any pressures higher than that you could run the risk of rupturing the colon. A bag 6ft high or 72 inches will develop about 2.6 psi, it exceeds safe pressure. Shower shooters which are all over the internet are extremely dangerous to use since most home water pressures are between 50-80 psi. Turning the water flow valve lower only reduces the water flow, the pressure of the water will slowly keep building until 50-80 psi achieved.

The only time I open it wide open is at the very end, so the hose drains all the water into me. Most of the time it's just cracked enough for the wheel to turn very slowly. I like them slow so I can enjoy them.

The medical books I’ve read, including military SOP from WWII for field enemas, all suggest the bag height be around two feet above the anus, or entry point. So, where ever the anus sits during administration, measure up two feet up, and put the bottom of the bag no higher than that line. Much success and safety was had by following this method for many years.

IV stands help with the mentioned protocol because one can easily reset the bag height as the patient moves into different positions. For example, the anus entry point of the patient is higher when they’re on hands and knees vs flat on their back or side. Not adjusting the height while positioning the patient lower will provide plenty of extra surge without being unsafe.

Obviously, in hotel rooms and other foreign places, an IV stand is rarely a luxury there for one use, so we’ve found other ways of hanging bags using rope, temporary wall hangers, and even lamps. All found “tools” were selected for their ability to hold the bag weight, and be around two feet above the receiver’s asshole.

If you want a more intense enema a reasonable bag height (60-75cm 2-2.5 ft) coupled with an open tube is the way to go. The enema can rush in and cause rapid distention when everything is relaxed, but with the low pressure it won't have too much force. When I'm going for more intense I will sometimes start wide open and end wide open with a slower period in the middle. You can really feel it on the ends, but the middle section lets things fill up and get around all the solids in the colon.

Most of the time less than a foot. Usually with something large bore, low pressure, but potential of high flow rate if my body is willing to take it. I have also gone up to about four feet when I want something fast to push in regardless of cramps. Sometimes large bore, sometime small, just depends on my reasons for taking.

The majority of my enemas are with the bag hanging from the towel bar, which is usually around 48 inches from the floor. That just works really good for me. Have done a few in past years with the bag hanging from the shower curtain rod. Too high for comfort. When traveling I sometimes had a length of cord so I could tie a loop at a convenient height.

I typically take mine standing with it hooked on the shower curtain rod or the shampoo rack, or on my hands and knees on the floor with it hooked on the rim of the bathroom sink or caught on the bottom shelf of the medicine cabinet, so I have no real idea in inches but I’d say four feet is the most I’ve ever done with an average closer to just under three feet.

It’s a hose off a Walgreens purple bag kit, with an old mabis straight nozzle plugged into the enamel can spout as an adapter, and either the Walgreens douche nozzle or the flanged straight nozzle as the business end. The spout hangs about six inches below whatever the hook is on, so considering the height of my ass, hose drop is definitely under three feet standing and surely less than four feet when I hold the can up to get the last little bit or if I need especially punishing flow.

I’m far from an expert but my preference is 36 to 48 inches high then you can adjust the bag as needed to increase or decrease flow. I would also suggest that the hose be long enough and free of kinks (oops Freudian slip)

Over the years I 've experimented with the bag height. Higher is harder faster flow. Each body is different, if to hard and too fast I really have a difficult time retaining. If I take it too long and slow, I retain well, but find sometime several surprise trips back to the bathroom when I thought is was all out. These surprises can happen at most inconvenient times.

Somewhere about 24-30 inches top of bag to my bottom works best for me.

I suspect what gives the most comfy enema and best results varies person to person, with a little time one can find the height that is perfect for their body and likes.

Remember, albeit an enema, the higher the source of water or liquid the more increase in pressure, so be mindful of that.

I always hang the bag from the shower curtain rod. I can adjust the flow speed with the hose clamp. By my second of third enema my colon is empty and I can open the clamp all the way. I love the feeling of it as the very warm water surges into me until the bag is empty. Thinking and writing that has me craving and lusting for a big warm enema.

Thank you Chef for sharing where you place the bag. I similarly hang the bag from the shower curtain rod and receive in the knee-chest position, about 60 inches above nozzle height in my case. The full open clamp and surge is exactly the effect I hope to maximize with interest primarily in punishments. Enemas have been an important part of my life for years so understand the need that grows when discussing the subject.

I have open it wide sometimes it seems to fill me up to fast. I usually like it when it goes in slowly and I can hear it gurling as it gets deep. My favorite tube is from SNC it's CT 75 30" long colon tube. I have ordered a CT103 36" long and a Model B nozzle waiting for them to get here.
