Does anyone boil the water for Enema to be sure it is free of bacteria before use?

Sorry, but just think about where the enema goes...the most UNsanitary part of your body.

Why would you want to go through a 'Ritual' of boiling water for an enema, of all things!

If your tap water is safe to drink then it contains so few bacteria that it is safe for enemas

I use a shower water filter that catches fine grit and some of the chlorine concentrate from the utility water treatment facility. It is not scientific, on my part, but gives me a "little warm fuzzy" up in my happy water. That filter is like a 3 inch diameter X 2 inch thick chunk of mystery on a short hose followed by a long hose that keeps my one gallon reservoir going. The reservoir is translucent so I can keep a eye on its contents volume. Then I have an old tymee two valve temperature mixer that,, from on my back, or standing, I can adjust it with curled toes. If I let it get too low, I have to stop it from feeding me so as not to introduce bubbles, unless I am thinking a few of those might be fun too.

Then when the fun causes my toes to curl, Hey! Put them up there on one of those valves as may be necessary as well. 🙄 Ooo, and when I am standing and put my toes up on the valves, there is no telling what else is going on, aye.

No, I don't boil my enema water. I used to use warm tap water until a buddy of mine years ago suggested distilled water. That works much better, I have a quicker return to normal bowel movements after I've had a good three or four bag fulls over a long period of time.

I enjoy taking the enema water on a slow flow release and will usually take one, hold it while I'm up fixing another one, then I'll release my first one and LoL start all over again and oh yeah, to make the fun last I'll have rest periods in between.

Just yesterday I posted about using soap in my enema recipe.

In that post, I described how I prepare my enema solution, part of which includes first boiling the water in a standard electric kitchen kettle. But I don't boil the water to kill off any bacteria. I am quite confident that the water in my part of Australia is safe. And if it is safe to drink it via your mouth, then it should be just as safe to drink it via your anus.

I boil the water because I hate wasting good clean water that I paid for by running the tap/faucet until I get hot water. But in Australia electricity costs more than water. Lucky I have PV solar panels on my roof.

I know you are probably thinking that I must be a very stingy, penny-pinging close-fist, scrooge type individual ('tight-ass' as they say in Australia). My family thinks the same. Sometimes, I even switch off the room light when I exit for >1 minute.

My mother just used hot water straight out of the tap for my soapsuds enemas, stirring a bar of Ivory soap in it until it was milky coloured with a thick layer of suds on top.

@Iris1858. Which is why when I am travelling in places where the water is not safe to drink I have my Microlax mini enemas.
