Knee jerk reflexes

Has anyone ever had their knee jerk reflexes checked by having the medical examiner lift your leg so the heel is just touching the table and then the knee struck by the percussion hammer? I had this done to me at a pre-employment physical years ago. The doctor did as I just described and the jerk was so intense that my arms rose a couple of inches off the table. She did the same on my right leg and the response was the same. I have never had my patellar reflexes checked like that since. It was an arousing experience. The physician was a woman in her early fifties.
