Is the culture surrounding enemas different in Scandinavia vs the US?

Hi all,

I saw in the thread welcoming @EnemaMum to the site that there was a question about whether or not hospitals in Norway still prescribe enemas like they used to.

I would like to more broadly ask members of the site from Scandinavia (especially if they’ve been in both the US and Northern Europe) how the culture and popularity of enemas has changed or stayed the same over time? Are enemas common in households and are they still used in hospitals?

I am curious to hear people’s thoughts. Please ask further questions as they come to mind.
