Has anyone seen Exam Gloves larger than XL?

I recall an appointment that I had for a physical exam with a doctor that I never met before.

Height, weight, temp, pulse, blood pressure were done at a station outside the exam room. The medical assistant escorted me to an exam room where I was asked to undress and change into a gown.

As I was sitting on the exam table waiting on the doctor I noticed that the only size exam gloves in the exam room were extra large (XL) which translates to a hand circumference of 10-11 inches and a hand length of 8-8.5 inches.

That made for an interesting wait to see the doctor and my eventual rectal exam.

Has anyone ever seen gloves larger than XL?

I have seen XXL gloves but not in a medical setting. I have seen them in mechanic shops, based on the size of the men wearing them a rectal exam from them would be memorable. I’m curious, did you feel anymore pain from that exam vs others with smaller digits? My first and second DRE was by male docs that both wore large gloves, the difference being the second doc tried to use as little lube as possible to avoid making a mess. I felt every twist and motion his finger made inside me.

I have never thought to check the size of an exam glove. I do automatically check his hand when it's extended for a hand shake. To me that it is a better indication of what you will experience. Short and stubby fingers vs. long medium fingers feel different. Both have me shaking!
