Semen sample & genital measurement for development studies/issues

Did any of you guys ever have to provide a semen sample for a development or puberty study? Were you mentally prepared for it, or did it catch you off guard? please share your experiences.

Alternatively, maybe some of you had to give a sample because of specific puberty-related issues. I was diagnosed with one and ended up having thorough genital exams included in my physicals for a few years, which is not the norm in my country. They came with certain "stimulation", not to ejaculation though (but at least I've got some interesting bits to share with my friends here!)

And even with the issue, I didn’t even get precise penile and testicular measurements like I know some gentlemen here have experienced. The doctor just estimated them by hand and by sight. Were measuring tapes and/or orchidometers used in your cases?

Never a semen sample, and the only measurement was the orchidometer at 14. And even then, it was after the doctor already had said I had finally started puberty after estimating my testicle size by hand and sight. It was only because my mother said it didn't look to her like I had started puberty yet that he went over and found the orchidometer in a cabinet and showed her that I had gotten to "5" which meant puberty had started.

@spbb I see. So, it wasn't intended for you from the start, but rather a response to your mom. My parents weren't in the exam room to question the doctor, so he ended up monologuing about my development and sexuality.

I'm not sure whether he used orchidometer or just tape. Once I had developed more I would often ejaculate during the exam. Always found it very embarrassing; as mum was sat a couple of feet away with clear view of everything.

Looking back, and remembering some of the conversations with friends when they reached puberty, I wonder how medically necessary it was, or whether it was more for his own "enjoyment / pleasure"

@MCurious Whoa, that's very interesting! Was it a result of your effort to get hard? but your mom was in the room then - stroking yourself would be very embarrassing. I would have DIED by the accidental ejaculation alone. How did you react?

Not a doc, but I suspect the measurements at regular intervals - flaccid or erect - weren’t necessary and more for the doctors enjoyment, either to touch you or embarrass you.

@Rigel That is my suspicion now, looking back as an adult. When I reached senior school and other local boys started going through puberty, there were "rumours" of him doing "odd" tests & being very "hand's-on" giving the nickname "dr toucher"

@Easternexam The erections & ejaculation happened while the dr was examining me. I never had to try and get hard or stroke myself 🙄

@MCurious . Wow. So at what ages and how many times did that happen.? What were you feeling like when this happened the first time? Did the doctor make any comment or explain ejaculation to you. Did your mom ever say anything about you ejaculating or did she not question it. Did she tell your dad? Did the doctor ever collect the sample, or did he just wipe it away. I'm just kinkey enough that I wish that all teenage boys had to have their semen tested at least once. And that they would have to produced the sample in the presents of the doctor. But having your mom witness it must have been freaky.
