Standing naked in front of a draft board

So there's lots of military exam stories here. But for this one, I would like to hear from guys who also had to walk up to a draft board panel of people completely naked. I have seen a few guys post about that. What was that like. What kind of people made up the draft board. Was it both military and non military personal // civilians. Were there both male and female personal on the board? What was that like? So they say, the nudity is to "break" you and strip you down to your basic self. Naked and all the same. Then they can mold you into a team. But did it work ?

In France until about 1966, but there could be some differences between the towns where took place the physical examinations of draftees, there was a lot of exams which might be done to fill a medical form, but the set up to perform the exams was not very strictly fixed by instructions, so the local authorities, the mayor of the town, or a superior officer, could decide of the set up without any risk to have complains of draftees and families if it was not enough respectful of privacy or dignity of the young men, I am almost sure that some set ups were certainly different than mine at other physical examinations in other towns or other years.

All young men who reached the age of 18 were summoned to come in front of a draft board commission generally a few weeks after, they knew by older brothers, uncles, and of course fathers how they would be examined by the draft board commission, it was indeed very well known, and it was kind of a ritual of initiation for boys, it was in some families a subject of relations by siblings during families meets ( for instance a talk and relation before the physical examination when a boy had received the letter to summon him to report in front of the draft board commission or questions to the boy after when a grand mother and or a grand father wanted to know how their grandson had been examined or an uncle and an aunt), , it was admitted that every boy might be examined to decide of his fitness to military service, and that it included an exam in the nude. What was not known was how long it lasted and how far it was or how publicly it was, because it was not the same everywhere and every time.

When I arrived at the town building where the exam took place, I was told to enter with a large group of about 50 or may be even 100 draftees in the building all together, then we were sent to a large room to undress ( indeed the non commisioners officers used the word "strip completely, one of them added to be sure that we had understood in a rude manner " hurry up, I want to see all of you in the buff very soon " , no jewelleries , no watches, and of course no socks nor underwears could be kept, there was no risk for a thief because there was enough non commissioners officers or members of the equivalent of the national guard members to check the room, then once we were all naked, we were pushed to the corridor where there was a quick roll call to make us line up by alphabetic order, the first group of 50 boys was conducted in line by the corridor to an other room, generally it was on the same floor like for me, but I knows by friends that it could be on the first floor with stairs to climb an other group was instructed to wait and to stand in line naked in the corridor.

Then, we were instructed to enter in the large room and to line up by group of 20, the other ones stayed outside to wait like it was for me, but I knew by other draftees that an other day in that town all the group was instructed to enter and half lined up at the back of the room while the first 20 ones were examined. Once inside, we could understand what would happen now, there was a huge desk with a dozen members of the draft board sitting behind, they were generally all males and they were either in civil clothes because they were reprentatives of local authorities, mayors of the towns where the boys were living, or regional authorities, or national authorities, or in military clothes when they were superior officers , about half of them were civilians and half of them were military officers!

There could be one or two women among the members of the draft board if they were mayors of a town or representatives of other local authorities, it could happen even if it was not the most frequent situation, I have been told by a friend that he had been examined naked in front of a woman mayor of a town. Anyway, nothing was changed in the set up as regards complete nudity of the draftees, the woman present could watch the exam of the naked draftees with a close view like the other members frontally and by back.

And at that time there was no women who could be a superior officer member of the draft board commission, if it were now, of course there would be very often women among the officers and half of the civilian persons would be women !

And it never happened at that time that the military doctor was a woman and there was never female nurses present, there was already a very few women who were military doctors but they were assigned at military hospitals and seldomly at barracks, I remember of a newspaper who related that there was for the first time a military woman doctor who had been assigned at a training camp or barracks and that threfore she would perform the exam of the new inductees, she was questioned by the journalist and she answered that she would not change anything in the set up fixed by the former male military doctor for the physical examinations of new inductees and that complete nudity of male inductees during their exam would be the rule like before.

It is obvious that if the report in front of the draft board commission had been maintained until the end of military service in the last 90's years and with the same set up including a long time nudity, it would have been more embarrassing and awkward since there would have been more than one women among the members of the draft board commission, and may be some women as superior officers, and certainly some women military doctors to perform the exam!

But for me there was only a dozen male members but it was already very impressive when you stood stark naked under their eyes.

We were called one by one in the line in alphabetic order to report in front of the draft bard members of the commission stark naked with hands on our sides, we were instructed to stand like at attention on a spot in the floor.

We were facing the middle of the desk, and we were first questioned by the facing member of the draft board about our identity, our parents and job of father, where we lived, level of studies, and so on, then a military doctor who was standing aside, a rather old man with a stern face and authoritarive manners, began to question us about our health and way of life ( smocking or not, drinking, sleeping, doing sport, illnesses or diseases during chidhood and teenage hood, and so on .., even if we had sexual relations or if we were still virgins , it was asked publicly in front of every body and all answers might be done in a loud voice or we were reprimanded and we might answer again enough loudly to be heard by all members and even certainly the first guys waiting in the line. It happened to one of the first guy being examined.

I rember vividly that since we had been warned by a non commissioner officer that we might always answer honesly without any lies because the doctor would check it easily,( I was so innocent that I believed that he could check if I was a virgin) , so I told the truth, that I was a virgin, I was not the first among the guys, very few have had already sexual relations ) the doctor told me that it was not an issue, that I was young and had the time ( he told the same comments to each boy who answered that he was a virgin)

Then the military doctor instructed me to go to the scale for weigh-in on the right side and to stop in front of it , he followed me, and he gave me a strong slap on my naked butt to climb up, it was not a surprise for me since I have seen him doing it with the guys examined before me, I might stand on the scale without moving like at attention, the military doctor was after coming behind the scale to read the result, so that my rear was completely exposed to the members of the draft board commission if they had turned their heads towards like I had seen them do it for the former draftees being examined, then the doctor came again behind me, gave me a second smack on the butt to climb down like he did for the others, and he instructed me to stand under the height gauge, and I was now visible frontally by all the members of the draft board commission, then I was instructed to come back in front of the draft board members and I was examined by the doctor, it was mainly a visual inspection frontally and by back since there was no exam table, and I stayed standing, it was not so thorough as the exam in a pre-induction military center ( there was no urine test no blood test, no X ray inspection ) but the doctor checked nevertheless a lot of things such as my throat, my teeth, my neck, my ears, my eyes, my reflexes, my muscles, my arms, my legs, my flexibility, and so on.

I listened to my chest frontally and by back, he took my pulse and then he instructed me to do several squats frontally and by back, and to lift up my arms with legs spread, and after to stretch them out, then to lift my legs one by one to check the balance, and after he instructed me to turn around and to bend over to touch my feet while he slided his fingers all along the spine from the neck to the tailbone and even all along the crack of the ass, then he instructed me to walk first on the left and after on the right of the desk to check again my balance and to stop at each side and bend over to touch my feet to check my spine giving all members of the commission a good sight on my rear and then to turn around and stand up to give each member of the commission a good sight of my front, then he instructed me to come back in front of him and to face again the members of the commission, and he ended his exam by an inspection of the genitals, he palpated my balls, looked at the scrotum and took in his hand my penis to lift it up and turn it to the left and then to the right, and he checked finally the urethra orifice, after he did the usual turn and caugh inspection for the hernia test, and eventually he instructed me to turn around again and bend over for the last time and he performed a visual inspection of my anus area by spreading widely himself with his hands without gloves the cheeks of my butt, then I might stand up again, he put his hands on my butt and he pinched brutally without any warning each of the cheeks of my butt to check their firmness,.and after he gave to me the last smack on my naked butt while instructing me to turn around again to face the members of the draft board commission and stand again like at attention on the spot. He told that it was the end of the exam, it had lasted about 10 minutes.

I could not know what all the members of the commission had seen exacly when he was performing a visual inspection of my anus, if they had seen my ass hole or not because he was obstructing the view over it, but the more plausible was that they had seen all because he was not always behind me, and he had even made them notice that I had round and well shaped butt before the last smack. Fortunately I was not facing them and could not see their faces at that while.

He told to the members of the commission that I was too slim as regards my height and that I had a small lordosis but not enough serious to be exempted from military service,and that I had a good flexibility , so he proposed to the members of the commission to pospone me till next year to check again my fitness since I would follow my studies at university and they had time to decide about my fitness, there was a short time discussion between the president and the other members, and very soon they decided to postpone me until next year, their offical decision was declared to me by the president and I was allowed to get out.

I was relieved that it was finished, I had found it very impressive to parade naked in front of a dozen men who were not medic persons , it was the most embarrassing exam that I have had during youth years. I had been naked for about a little less than two hours, may be one hour and a half, including time for undressing. For the last guys in the line to be examined it might have lasted more than two hours in the nude!

I think that it would have been worst if I had been examined alone in the exam room because in my opinion it was less traumatic or humiliating when you were naked with a large group of other guys , when you saw them being examined like they saw you, you did not forget that you were naked but you felt equal to the other boys in the nude,Though I was a very shy boy towards nudity, I was not at all upset when I got out. May be it was also because I knew by my father that I would be examined naked.

Thanks for the story. And as you said, young guys knew in advance about walking around naked and being examined stark naked in front of your own city officials. Some of which you might have known before. But still, it must have been awkward to just stand there naked in front of them. When the doctor examined your penis, did he pull your foreskin back and inspect the glan? If so, did he make any comment about it to the members of the board. I might have lost control at that point since retracting of my foreskin usually resulted in an erection when I had physical exams with my pediatrician . Just curious about your fellow inductees. You were all still young but did some of them have very much body hair? I would assume that all of you had pubic hair, But did some young men have Hairy chest, stomach, legs, arms, etc. If so, did the doctor make any comment on how hairy the inductee was. I'm sure you were nervous, but during the long wait, and or the exam part, with all naked guys, did you ever see any temporary erections.

Thank you again, and just so you know, I missed the US draft for Vietnam only by 2 years. And I know from my father's experience, I would have to go down town to the "Federal Building" which was a 4 story impressive looking building. And that I would have to get completely naked and walk around on several floors all over that building while naked. I guess the only consolation, was , I wasn't going to be the only guy naked> Ha I'm not sure that I would have had to stand in front of a draft board naked... but that would have been another kind of awkward since a couple of my friend's dads were in the city government and I had been to their homes. So I would not have been an unknown person to them. It would have been awkward to go to their homes for a visit after, knowing that they had seen you completely naked for several minutes.

In Soviet Union such practices were in place until mid 70s I think. Boys took all their clothes off and then headed up for examination by doctors of various specialities. In the end they reported to the draft board and often they didn’t have the opportunity to put clothes back on and had to present themselves to the draft board completely naked. Later, starting from late 70s they were allowed to keep underpants for medical examination and for draft board final asessment. Still wearing just underwear while you are questioned by draft board members, who are not medical staff, was quite humiliating I reckon.

I presume that each country has or had when it is finished now its own rules and uses.

In France the medical examination in front of a draft board commission with a dozen members composed of officials and officers was the rule since the beginning of the draft for young men under Napoleon , we had relations in books about the hysical examinations of draftees at that time, of course it was different of mine but thre was already an exam by a military doctor in presence of the members of the draft board commision which took the decision about fitness , it was never only the military doctor, and what was diffetrent of other countries , for intance what is described by Kulhem for Russia was that the medical examination was performed in the room where the members of the draft board commission were sitting, they watched all the examination and that rule was followed until 1966

I think that it was more degrading in France and may be some other countries than in Russia because even if the draftees came naked at the end of the set up to answer to questions of members of the russian draft board who were not medical persons or later in underwears , it was less embarrassing than to be examined frontally and by back in front of them.

I have seen one of the first movie of Roman Polanski when he was still living In Poland and we can see a young man wo is called for military service and is submitted to a physical examination, the director of the movie does not show a lot of the exam but we can understand that the young draftee is naked and that he came naked in front of members of a draft board commission who are not medic persons, less numerous than for me but also a mix of officials and officers, we can notice that thre is a woman among the officials, he is questioned by them during a short time before they give to him their decision about his fitness for military service, but we can also notice that there is a chief doctor among them to explain to the other members what to think about a medical result in his medical form or a comment on the form.

anyway I think if in France the set up had not changed as regards the exam in front of the members draft board commission, it could have changed according to years or towns in other countries...

I have already read that In URSS in the 60's or 70's, the exam of draftees could take place at a high school during one or everal mornings because there was a large rooom for the exam, so that the young men were naked in the corridor after undressing to wait for entering in the exam room by group because every boy was instructed to strip naked even if his turn was not soon to come, and they were exposed to the view of every body walking through the corridor of the school, cleaning ladies of course but also teachers of both genders and even some girls classmates and teachers could enter in the room to take some learning books or maps which were stored in that room, so that they forgot to close the door which stayed most of the time open, leaving a view inside to every person walking in the corridor and it was related that at the end of their exam, the boys might report always stark naked in front of a draft board in the teachers room and the administrative staff of the high school was invited to sit with the draft board commission and also several teachers of both genders to give their opinion about each student draftees for his future studies after graduation or for his skill in sport, so that the poor boy's students were naked in front of their teachers and principal and vice principal, all persons that they would see the following days.. It might have been very embatrrassing more than to be seen by unkown persons in my opinion .

Others related that the exam could take place in the schoolyard or play ground of a school or the yard of an other administrative buildings openly in public with possibly persons walking by and seeing all the exam.

as regards the relation of "Kulhem" It seems to me that if there was a lot of medical stations where the draftees were examined naked after walking from one to an other, it was more the set up which was applied in the french pre-induction military centers after 1966 but there was a difference, if the draftees were also naked ( I will relate it an other day with details like it is asked ) there was no more a report in front of members of the draft board commission, except for two years of temporary rules where there was still a report in front of the draft board commission but it was not the same day, not just after the physical examination, so that normally after at the end of the exam in a pre-induction military center you had just to report in front of a chief doctor who was alone or not, and after a superior officer to discuss of the future,and depending on the years and the centers you could be still naked or already dressed again , during the first years of the apply of new rules for draft, you were generally naked in front of him.

This was still the case in Poland in the 1950s and 1960s. In the 1980s, my friends and I were afraid that we would have to stand naked in front of many people. Medical examinations took place in underwear. Finally, the young man was put behind a screen and had to take off his underwear. However, only one doctor saw it.

Personnally I did not know any of the members of the draft commission board, either city officials or superior officers because I was living in a big city, I presume that for boys living in small towns and rural areas, it could be different, they could have known the mayor of their city.

And of course it might happen that the sons or nephews or grandsons or neighbors of members of the draft board commission, either civilian oficials or military officers, were summoned to report in front of the commission and were examined naked in front of them, it might be more embarrassing, more over if there was comments about their naked bodies by the doctor or father or uncle or grandson or neighbor.

I try to imagine the talk at diner that day when a father related to his wife or an uncle to the aunt that he had been spectator of the examination by the military doctor of the boy and how it was carried on with all draftees naked and all the details of the exam if they were questioned, for instance that the doctor gave a slap on the naked butt of the boy for weigh_ in and at the end or how was performed the visual inspection of his anus area with bending over and the cheeks of the butt being spread widely by the military doctor or how the doctor inspected his genitals andhe related also the comments of the military doctor for instance like for me when he did comments about my round and well shaped butt, and may be if it was at diner or at a meet family in presence of sisters or female cousins who could have giggled a lot at that relation !

As regards the inspection of genitals, of course the military doctor pulled back the foreskin ( without gloves ) to inspect the glan but it was very quick and only one time, and I am sure that I was not erected, and I have not seen any draftee being erected, either during the waiting or during examination, I presume that we were too anxious, too nervous, and it was cold because the temperature in the room was adapted to clothed persons , not for draftees in the nude and waiting naked a long time and besides we were very close supervised by non commissionners officers in the line and we felt their eyes on us all the time.

The military doctor did not make any comment to the members of the draft board commission about the genitals nor about the anus area, his only comments were about the shapes of the butts, and now I remenber that he made also comments about our tanner bodies because it was in september after holidays, so it was easy to know who had been in holidays and had swam in the sea or a lake, the tanning limits of those who had wore swimming suits were visible on the body, he joked about the fact that we were not naturists since our butts were completely white, he did comments to members of the draft board about it when we were exposed back to him or to them when we walked on each side and were visible from back and I remember now that there was a few laughters by them.

May be I have forgotten some parts of the exam but I remember very vividly of it like you had certainly noticed, much more than of any other examination during my youth, may be also because it was a kind of event in the youth of a boy, it was not something which was unexpected and surprising but rather an ordeal that he migt overcome, he knew that he would be examined naked in front of a lot of persons like his father or grandfather, his parents and grandparents or other siblings knew also it, so when he reached 18 age, he knew that it would happen soon, and his father as well as Pe teachers had talked to him about it long time ago.

Very often when a pre-teenage boy or a teenage boy was shy towards nudity in different situations ( changing of clothes publicly, showering in group, physical examinations ) he was told that he would be naked with a large group of boys of his age when he would be examined in front of the draft board commission. The Pe teachers teased to us about our stupid modesty each time we were reluctant to undress immediately and strip completely for showers or to undress at physical examinations. Even the school nurse told us at high school that we had no reason to be shy to strip naked because we would be bare ass at the drat physical examination at 18 age ;, my father teased to me also when we were in holidays at my grand parents home and we shared a bed room if he saw that I was trying to undress behind the bed instead of doing it openly. So we have heard of that ordeal very often even at family.

I was so shy towards nudity that I have thought to it many days before as soon as I have received at home the summon's letter, so even if it lasted a too long time, I was really very relieved after and it was not a so bad memory ..

As regards your comments about the exam of draftees during vietnam war, I have read a lot about them, and It seemed to me that if they were certainly often performed in the nude, depending on centers, and if draftees were often walking in corridors or halls of a city building stark naked like me, there was not an exposure in the nude to the members of a draft board commission. If I have well understood these members had only administrative tasks such as to register the future draftees and to write letters to summon them at pre-induction centers and to check year by year their situation as regards selective military service, and so on, but they were never involved in the physical examinations itselves.

So even if there was some friends of your dad who worked at the city government, I doubt that you would have been exposed to them naked at draft examinations, except of course if they worked at the building where took place your examination in case of a bad set up where you would have walked or waited naked in corridors where they passed through..? who knows? not very credible !

But It seems according to some relations that it have happened during that time that american draftes were exposed naked to women working at their offices in the military medical centers because their offices were adjacent to the exam rooms ( especially in small centers rather located in rural areas because of a few facilities which did not let to separate completely the activities or may be on the reverse in very large facilities where the number of draftees to examin was very important if there was a total lack of interest for the modesty of draftees of the authorities of the center who wanted only that the examinations were conducted the more faster and in the more efficient way which was possible ) It could happen when doors stayed open or when there was large windows without curtains, or because these women ( and even may be girls same age if they worked at administrative tasks ) were walking through a corridor to go to other offices while draftees were lined up naked or walking naked to go from one medical station to an other one.

it was certainly depending on the authorities of these draft centers but according to some relations it seems that sometimes no authority minded about the respect of modesty or dignity of dratees.

Graduating from high school, a major change in the draft system occurred where induction shifted to a lottery system and my birth date ended up being somewhere around 230 and I was high enough to feel safe. I enlisted for 4 yrs into the USAF and the only medical practices that I can remember is that at boot camp after our hair cut we stood in line for inoculation shots which was a high pressure jet and no needles. OK now for uranalysis there was an observer in a chair around 8 feet from you and the urinal and also a full length mirror to make sure that no piss tubes would cheat the sample. I can't even remember my physical with the Doctor, probably because it was so ordinary and plain vanilla.

It wasn't really a draft board with civilians, but I wasn't alone with the doctor, there were three other officers sitting at a table. I no longer know if they were military doctors or if the officer responsible to decide in which unit I would be enlisted was also present.

I don't remember if I had to take off my underwear and be completely naked in front of these officers or if I had just pulled them down for the genital exam.

of course I had hairs at 18 age, not very much , not on my chest or legs and arms but on the genitals area, I had pubic hairs

I presume that it was the same for all the boys since they were all aged of 18

only a few of them that I could see in the line had more hairs , some on the chest and on the legs and arms, but a very few of them, may be 3 about 20 boys.

My draft exam was after 2000s. And, yes I had to stay in front of draft board totally nude. There were men and women staff (army people, doctors, secretary of the board). During this staying proces the head of the board said if you are able for obligatory military servis or not.

In the US the draft board is civilians who register and classify people for military service. They rely on accredited medical experts to qualify and/or grant exemptions The draft board doesnt actually examine anyone. There may be a medical doctor on the board who evaluates and interprets medical reports and requests for exemptions, but “presenting yourself naked in front of a draft board” just doesn’t happen. When you are examined it’s by a MEPS which may be a team of docs/medical professionals accredited by the Selected Service Administration ( my guess is they might be civilian or military) and for induction physicals it may be a group exam.

The US has not had a draft since the Vietnam Ware era. Back then, no examinee would have stood naked in front of the draft board. Few would ever see a draft board. There were about 4000 local draft boards throughout the US. Many would only meet for a few hours, once a month. The tasks of selecting draftees was mostly relegated to civilian clerks who worked under Selective Service guidelines. Most local boards had a "medical advisor" who would review correspondence and records provided by registrants doctors. The majority of eligible registrants would be sent at least once to one of about 70 entrance and examining centers where they received a medical examination, usually in the company of several hundred others. Whether nudity was brief, or an all day experience varied widely with the various MEEPS. The Army administered the examinations for ALL of the branches of the military. Medical officers (MD's), Nurses Medics and corpsmen from all branches of the service participated although some MEPS were able to obtain volunteer civilian physicians assistance. As an Army medic who did some time working in a couple of the examining centers I recall there were about 24 pages of medical qualifiers which were to be examined, but in reality the huge number of examinees meant that often only about a minute or two of exam time was available for each. Also, the examination centers did not have the final word. The local draft boards could order induction or rejection based upon their desires. Rumor has it that political and financial family status were known to enter into such decisions.

I haven't been standing naked in front of a draft board, but I have been naked during the whole physical exam that I had for my military services.

It obviously depends how you look at it, but that nakedness was actually not needed, only easier for the doctor ofcourse...and, at certain moments, it was quite impacting and embarassing

in middle Europa, Czechia. Secretary was woman and she was present all time during recruit exam. One doctor was woman and one military person was also woman.

You write that there was a woman secretary, which was not common in other countries where there was still a coming of draftees in front of a draft board commission because she was not a medical person at all ? how old was she ? did you notice if she was watching you permanently ? I presume that she had not much things to do and had time to look at your naked body during all your exam ?

And there was also a woman doctor and a military woman, how old were they according to you ? so it means that you were examined and after standing naked in front of three women ? do you think that it increased your embarrassment or it did not matter for you ? did you have to turn around to expose your back, especially naked butt, and did some members male or female have told comments about them ? for instance that they were well shaped and round and semed very firm if it was the case ? or very white if you had a tanned body ?

And while exposing your back, did you were instructed to bend over to touch your feet or anckles ? during the inspection of genitals , were you instructed to retract your foreskin and lift your penis and turn it to left and right, and were your testicles palpated all in front of the thrre women ?

And to walk in front of them, and to squat several times front and back and so on... to check your spine and balance

I did not get a medical examination in front of a draft board but rather got it at a military induction Center. We were permitted to wear our pants until the anal and genital examinations. Whereupon we lined up removed our pants and underwear and hung them on the hook behind us. Then a doctor examined our bodies one by one from the front, had us turn around, examined our backs and then had us bend over and spread our cheeks.

Examination was done at the same room. All committee was present during exam process, so 6 people together. We were separated to small groups usually to 3 – 4 guys and this small group of guys were examined together in the same room. From the start was done eye test and so on and it was allowed to be in underwear, but during examination process doctor told to undress completely and it was necessary to be nude to the end of the recruit exam.

Recruit committee had 6 persons, 3 doctors – two man and one woman, 2 people from army – one man and one woman and secretary – woman. According to the age there were middle age or older. I noticed that not only secretary but also people from army watching us permanently. For example for penis exam we had to stay in a line together with other guys completely nude. So everybody from committee could compare and watch our bodies. And yes, doctor told to retract foreskin in front of all people who were there. The same was for rectal exam. Doctors sometimes commented partial results of exam. I was shocked how this exam was done, because I don´t have older brothers and my cousins who are man are also younger than me, so there was nobody who I could speak about it. I felt extremely shy especially in front of woman staff there. When I was 18 I was not used to be nude in front of other guys, because I was not visiting pools or gyms like now. I also didn´t expected that I had to be stay nude in front of draft board, because about 20years ago when I was at recruit exam, there were not so many pictures and stories on website about it. I also heard some stories from older guys, and some of them told me that they had to be nude all exam process, some of them told that underwear was necessary to take off only for a short time. There were not strict rules in legislation how this exam done, so it usually depends how head of the committee organised it.

Recruit had 2 parts. One was about information about army and rules for medical exam. There were only army staff present and everybody was there fully clothed. Second part was examination. At the hall I had to take off all clothes, only underwear was allowed to stay. After few minutes I went with other guys to exam room, when was all examination process done. Here was all committee, as I wrote man and woman staff. At the end of the exam I had to stay nude in front of them, they give me question about my personal life, future plan and so on, or summarize and commented results of exam or some parts of the exam was repeated in the results was not as they expected. Last step was that head of the committee said if you are able or not able to join army. When committee said this information last guy in a group, it was allowed to take on underwear and leave the exam room. In a hall take on the rest of clothes and could go out from the building.

Thanks for the draft board story. So you ended having to be completely naked and retract your foreskin in front of everyone including woman.. I wonder what the female secretary thought of getting to see lots of naked 18 year old boys/men up close and to get to see them retract their foreskins in front of her..... wow.. So, each guy retracted his own foreskin or did the doctor do it. And how close to the table of people were you. Close enough to see the head of your penis??

You write that you have had a draft examination who was performed in the nude in a large room by group of three or four and in front of a draft board commission which took place after 2000's in Czechia.

It is surprising for me that your draft exam was carried on with such a degrading process since at these years your country was no more a communist state and since already several years.

So it means that even after your country has becomen rather a european country and was no more linked to URSS and after Russia, the draft process ssemed to be still inspired by those applied during a long time in the communist states, it was like if nothing had changed as regards the respect of the modesty and dignity of draftees.

After 2000's, there was a few of countries which had maintained a mandatory military service with a draft process and still less where the mandatory physical examination was carried on like yours without any privacy with a public examination of a group of draftees ( even if it was a small group compared to the number who were undressed until nudity and examined together in France which for me was about 20 draftees but it was in the middle of the 1960's and no women were present) and a standing in the nude in front of a draft board commission at the end of the process to answer questions to the six members but still naked after examination and the fact that among the six members of the draft commission, there was three women, and only one was a doctor, the two others being a military person and a secretary which had no medical reason to be present to look at draftees in the nude.

I presume that it was the same process when the state was still a communist one.

You said that you have not an older brother or male cousin and you had only heard rumors about the exam without being sure how it was performed and that you had not expected to be naked in front of three women.

But if you had a father and he had been a draftee, I presume that he had related to you how would have been the process for him, may be there was changes after so much years, but may be it was not so different, did he had warned you that you would be naked with other draftees and possibly in front of a draft board commission composed of some women if it had been also the case for him ?

I notice that the presence of a woman being a military person could be rather new because there was certainly more women in the army of your country than in the past, like we can notice it in all countries.

As regards the woman secretary, it was certainly very embarrassing to know that she could watch the examination and see you naked because she was not at all a medical person, I presume if she was a middle age woman that she was used with the draft process and knew when she was assigned to that task that that she would see a lot of young men stark naked during the exam, It is impossible to know if she found it pleasant and funny or boring and casual, but nevertheless even if it was not an event for her, it did happen seldomly in other country with military service for young men !

As regards the doctors, it is not so much surprising that there was a woman about three persons after the 2000's.

Did she had some exams to do ? and the two male doctors other ones ? What were the exams she performed herself ?

The inspection and exam of genitals performed on draftees staying in a line together might have been obviously embarrassing if you had noticed that the six members including the three women were watching permanently the naked bodies of the draftees since it was performed in plain view !

The rectal exam might have been also especially degrading if you were exposing your asshole closely to all persons who watched it with an unobstructed view.

But it could have been worst, it could generally always be worst, for instance if you had been a larger group of draftees about 10 or more, or if you had been instructed to strip completely as soon as you entered in the room examination, even for eyes test for instance. You would have stayed naked and exposed to the eyes of the members of the draft commission a much more long time.

Like you said the way how the exam was done was certainly depending how head committee carried it on if there was no strict rules, which was certainly the case.

For the first part about information about army and rules for medical exams, did you have noticed if there was also some military women aside military men ?

If you undressed until underwears in the hall, I presume that you were rather a large group who undressed all together ? who supervised you and gave you instructions? were you exposed to other persons who walked past in the hall ?

For the last part when you stood naked in front of the men and women staff, how long did it lasted for the whole time you had to stand naked including the questions ?

If I had well understood you might stay naked and wait until the end of examination and decision about the fitness for the last draftee being examined in the group, it was only after that you were allowed to take on your underwear, ?

So, where did you wait in the room and how were you standing still naked if you had been examined before the last one ? standing in a line in the back of the room ?

You write that the doctors could repeat parts of the exam if they were not satisfied by the results, can you give an example of what exam could be repeated ?

I don´t find this exam so strange nowdays, because I hear or red story from other guys and very often this exam was done in bigger groups of guys. Here is now very often discussed if obligatory army service should be or not and in discussion I red more stories about exam process and many guys wrote that they had to be nude from the start to the end of the exam. I didn´t discussed this exam with my father, because I felt shy to speak about it.

All doctors there do exam usually together, for example during orthopaedic exam one doctor give instruction what to do and other doctors watching your body. In a hall there were more guys and man from army told that in a hall to take off everything except underwear and wait here for a while for next instruction. Of course that all staff who come around could see everybody in underwear. During standing in draft board some exams was done again, for example if you had very high blood pressure they checked it again, or if the eye test was not so good, committee ask to do exam again. In think that all exam process didn´t take more than 1 hour.
