Oh, how dreadful to hear of any painful experience during a most important and vital examination for us women!
I would say the most painful for me was during a pap smear. What made it painful was due to my being so uncomfortable and utterly nervous-but more nervous than one should be under such circumstances. I've talked about this exam in other threads but, essentially, she did not allow Anthony back into the room with me and, as a result, it made my guard go up tremendously! She couldn't get the speculum to go in, hardly! To add further insult to injury, she laughed and expected me to just calm down. Anyways, they eventually let my Anthony come back as I was in tears from the embarrassment and overall discomfort in that situation, and when she finally did get the speculum in, she noted there was some blood. I wonder why! I've already a sensitive cervix but, being that my pelvic floor muscles were tense-that didn't help matters any!
I think it's so crucial and, honestly, rather time-consuming and difficult, to find a doctor with whom you feel the utmost comfort. For ladies, I really mean the ob/gyn! There's just so much to be concerned with as it pertains to our reproductive systems, our hormones, our sex life, etc! The womb is where all the magic happens, and as such, should be examined by those hands that care deeply as such.
