I like the domestic setting where someone may be coming down with the flu. The oral thermometer is either low battery or misplaced, so unexpected that it will be taken rectally. Temperature is definitely taken over the lap and every two hours as the temperature is nearly 102F. Once the 5 minutes is up, The nurse removes the thermometer, cleaning off the vaseline and letting me know I have a low grade fever, letting the Dr. know and what other painful or uncomfortable procedures await me. I feel my undies go back up and once the dr. examines me she tells the nurse what will be next......
