Safety with estim

Definitely avoid any electrodes above the waist! Anyone with cardiac issues of any kind, especially arrhythmia, should avoid e-stim completely. I wish that I could enjoy it, but I never found the sensations pleasant or arousing. Maybe my body is telling me something - I love so many forms of pleasure/pain - but something very deep within me just says a resounding "no" to e-stim. Wands, and other devices that use static electricity to generate a little shock, are a different story - high voltage, infinitesimally small current. It's just a momentary "zap", and is much safer.

E-stim sends significant current between the electrodes, causing contractions of the muscles in its path - and sometimes beyond. For some, it is a way to achieve hands free orgasms, especially if the current passes through the head of the penis and/or through the prostate. A s long as the current doesn't go anywhere near the heart, it should be safe for those without any heart trouble. If the body reacts with alarm, as I do, the adrenaline, increased blood pressure, and anxiety could easily trigger an adverse event, even if the electrical impulses do not directly pass through the heart. Most e-stim power boxes are very clear about the risks in their instructions for use.
