I have an Eko CORE for my Littmann Cardiology IV. For reference: I use it for work, and find it works really well/counteracts my hearing loss.
Pros:
- You can attach it to any stethoscope with a single lumen
- You can record through the app up to 2 minute heart exams/auscultation sessions.
- The app can let you use your phone essentially as a speaker. You can use your Eko stethoscope to listen through your phone's speaker or through another set of headphones separate from the stethoscope. To boot, you can record using your phone's camera with the audio coming through the phone speaker (not recording through the app, just playing through your speaker) and you essentially pair audio with video. This trick took me a little bit to figure out.
- USB charging
Cons:
- PRICE: its $250 or so for the CORE. It was worth it for me, but I can appreciate that being steep if you only use it for steth play.
- You have to be careful with the amount of amplification you have going, as it can make recording sounds super tingy or a lot of reverberation
- The app is a little finicky to figure out. For med-fet/stethoscope play, not really a big deal though.
- If you record through the app, then you get up to 2 minutes of record time.
