I think I won the prize on the equipment question!
1) First remembered, nurse at 5 YO in hospital for tonsillectomy
2) Nurse used can, red hose, black nozzle. When insertion started I freaked......until the water started, then wait a minute, this feels pretty good. SURPRISE!
3) After hospital experience my older sister told me mom used the "red squeeze thing" on me when younger, I didn't remember that. At 5 or 6 YO got my first with open top bag over mom's lap. That didn't change until older when we moved to a smaller house where mom switched to a combo bag.
4) Always just water, but the nurse at 5 YO may have used soap, I only remember watching her put the hose on the can and putting water in it at the sink.
5) Volume did progress with age I noticed the bag getting bigger, however as I secretly shared enemas with my older sister (who fancied herself an expert) our volume may have been greater than mom's. At around 12 or 13 years old mom gave me my first combo kit and said "You're old enough to take care of yourself when you need it". A day I'll never forget.
6) Equipment has been the combo bag mom gave me then the open top bag mom and grandmother used on us I acquired when cleaning out grandparents house until it failed about 40 years ago, then a combo bag that I bought, now an array of bags, and a unique delivery system. I fill a 4 gallon bucket and put a small submersible fountain pump in the bucket with the hose in the top of an open top bag, The pump is controlled by an adjustable on/off timer or sometimes I use a push button to control the pump. I also have a adjustable speed peristaltic pump that I connect to my combo bag for pulses of water.
7) Equipment is constantly evolving, I just a frustrated enema inventor!
😎 Bag type depends on mood, open top always when using my "pump" delivery system, combo bag for a quick cleaning.
9) Always purely personal enjoyment, as it's been part of my life since I was introduced to enemas at 5.
10) Stop? Probably not until they carry me out horizontal.
