Pregnancy and TENS

I have a bit of what I feel is a silly question. I am currently 17 weeks pregnant(18 tomorrow) and while I really enjoy the stimulation of the TENS unit, I haven't used it since finding out and was unsure if it is still safe to use or not.

I just thought I would ask and see if anyone had any answers or experience with it. Thanks!

Under NO conditions should you play with a tens unit while pregnant, unless you want to damage the fetus. It is also possible you could kill the fetus by interfering with the fetal heartbeat.

Yes, the only time a TENS machine should be used when pregnant is when you're about to not be pregnant any more! I.e. for pain relief during labor. There are specific TENS settings and electrode placements which have been studied for safety in that context.

When we were looking into this for my partner all the TENS machines made for that purpose had a warning never to use them until you're in actual labor and always use them exactly according to the instructions, and all of the regular TENS machines had warnings not to use them even in labor, and to use one of the ones specifically designed for that instead.
