Using hospital enema equipment given to you to use later at home

Over the years I have had a few enemas in hospitals. Although rare now, (you have to be a pest and request them). It is still something you can get at any overnight visit to a hospital or ER. When being discharged I always take the plastic bucket home. It is my goto equipment for a quick and convenient enema. You can mix the solution right in the bucket and the 1500CC capacity seems to be the perfect enema volume. I just finished one and it's only 45 minutes from beginning to end. Not much more than a fleet.

Does anyone else do this when being discharged from a hospital stay? I have even had nursing staff say, "you should take this with you in case you need it at home, they can be pretty handy to have around". Usually I'm being dicharged with drugs which are very constipating.

I picked up some 3-liter glass irrigators from a hospital years ago, as well as some glass syringes for enemas.

The days of typical hospital enemas as we know them are definitely over.

Likewise, in most of today's young families, enemas are becoming less important as home care.

Note the age of those members who are on the drip of the bags and bulbs; that has some significance.

Broke 4 ribs and collapsed a lung falling off a ladder several years ago. I was kept drugged and dopey for two weeks in the hospital. They kept shoving suppositories up my ass. No mention or suggestion of an enema ever. Pretty sure I crapped myself a time or two. I was so stoned I didn’t care one way or the other. They finally released me to a hospital bed at home with orders for my wife to continue cramming those things in me and sticking a bedpan under me. I finally recovered to the point where I could sleep in my own bed and climb out of the drug fog. She went shopping with friends one day and I gave myself a big, slow, hot, relaxing enema. I expelled for what seemed like forever and for the first time in over a month I felt normal. I ordered a pizza.
