This is interesting to think about. I guess there are a few categories of people who “know” my circumcision status in various ways.
1) People who have seen my penis in person. Beyond those I’ve had sex with, this includes:
- At least 7 doctors I remember specifically looking at it.
- Other medical professionals I have no specific memory of. For example, I had a couple of childhood surgeries and assume I was cathed for those procedures.
- Several play doctors, all of whom examined my penis very thoroughly
- Another play patient who I was examined alongside a couple of times
- Any guy who has seen me changing underwear, showering, or toweling off in a locker room - this category theoretically includes hundreds of guys I don’t know, plus a few friends and coworkers who go to the same gym. Though I realize that most guys who may have seen my penis in these circumstances probably didn’t particularly notice or care about my circumcision status.
2) People who I’ve discussed circumcision with. This includes a few close friends from teenage and college years, and in adulthood some other gay men as well - as an adult this has never been a conversation topic with any of my straight male friends, but the topic occasionally comes up among gay friends when discussing sexual experiences and partners (some have a strong preference for either cut or uncut partners but most do not).
3) I’ve also posted some faceless nude photos on various sites before, but that feels like a different category and far more anonymous than someone who has seen it in person, even if they also don’t know me. I’ve also exchanged photos in chats on apps like grindr, or gone on cam with online friends - most of these guys I never ended up meeting in person.
4) For that matter, anyone who reads this post or related posts I’ve made on this site is now included in the group of people who know I’m circumcised.
