Oh good grief - this is a topic in a forum about "psychology". My name is not Tucker, I do not seek out intelligent advice from journalists or tv personalities, and I am not targeting my comments to anyone on this forum. My point in all of this is the use of language, both spoken and written, to influence society can have very serious consequences. And that's the topic...or at least I think it is....what on earth is happening to this recent generation that makes them unstable, unable to function, psychotically fixated on cell phones, and wanting to commit suicide.
The whole tootsie roll and minotaur language comes from a slide presentation...I think the terms were priuses and tauruses in the printed slide, and the entire 5 hour video of the event presenter going through all this. I'm not rejecting your comments moliere...just pointing out that this comes from an actual video presentation. The terms were elicited from children as young as 6 to describe themselves. Those of you who have raised kids will understand how those early developmental years work in terms of conjuring up invisible friends, pretending you are a transformer, it's all part of the human development process. You can get a kid to call themselves a toaster oven and make toast. It's not a literal thing but it's all in fun and helps their minds develop, but it's not so that you can impose some kind of label of whatever ideas you have as an adult on them.
Quote frankly I'm not even trying to evoke a discussion around what's going on with children and this adult fixation on sex. I will say it's not normal in my opinion and in fact is part of the generational issue. The target age from this group to begin to influence them with lables such as tootsie roll and so on is age 2 -, to give them drugs to interfere with their sexual development at age 13, and I think surgically removing body parts starting at age 16.
The fixations with adults influencing children are on everything from drugs to violence to sowing seeds of hate against just about everyone, including hate of themselves and breaking down their self worth. So let's get off the sex crap for a minute. There are many young people who carry autism into adulthood. This is a complicated world to understand. What normal people do is love and respect these individuals and find a path to help them throughout life. What if I started a movement to label autistic individuals, based on their particular version of autism, as bananas, donkeys, and tiddlywinks and convincing them to use this label on themselves. Is that appropriate? And I demanded that medical institutions, parents, teachers, adopted this language and applied it to certain autistic children and adults beginning at age 2. Language has some very deep consequences when used incorrectly. Hence the aforementioned group using the categories of...apples, oranges, and fruit salads....to describe individuals who are going through many conflicting emotions and place those labels upon themselves.....do you seriously think this is funny? Sounds cute doesn't it. This is how bullies operate...labeling a child or person who is somehow different with a name label. It's not even the name...it's not using language to be endearing, it's using language to convince someone that they must be thought of as different, not able to fit in, and that everyone else who is different and who do not have those labels are their enemies.
Like it or not it is tearing our kids live apart. That is shameful no matter what kink or sexual thought or preferences you personally have, where you like to travel, if you like to drink wine or beer, what sports team you cheer for.... anything and everything you want to experience as an adult. It's the Sesame Street question....what's different? what is so different about this generation that no other generation before it displayed?
