Turning the inserted thermometer

When your temperature was taken rectally as a child, were you ever specifically asked by the taker (mother, aunt, babysitter) if you liked having the thermometer turned by them during the measurement?

Asked as a child? No.

No I wasn't asked. My mom didn't touch the thermometer until measuring time was over. My dad was the opposite because he twisted it to read the midterm result, sometimes he removed it midterm and reinserted it. At the pediatrician or in hospital no one twisted the thermometer

As an adult I was getting a rectal temperature taking which I requested, from a young “trainee” ( the badge she was wearing) as a registered nurse oversaw how the trainee was doing the procedure. The trainee was and I’m guessing 18 or 19. Really good looking, too.

So the nurse lowers my pants and underwear, instructs the young woman, “ You take his temperature!”

The girl grabbed a thermometer, held it up, looked at it, shook it down. Opened a foil packet and plunged the Thermometer into it, pulling it out w/ a good deal of lube( similar to K-Y.) I’d have to think this was not her first temperature taking as I watched her. Seconds later she was spreading my buttocks admonishing me to relax, then inserted the thermometer about 2”.

. After a few seconds she began turning it. I immediately became aroused, explaining it was causing me to get an erection.

She immediately stopped, apologized.

The nurse realizing the situation, told her that rectal temperatures on males and how they’re done sometimes cause erections which were not uncommon.

After a female physician saw me, she ordered an antibiotic.

The nurse did the shot. And my butt cheek (upper part) was sore for a day or two!

As a child, no recollection of my Mother doing that.

If I experienced it, it would have to have been done by a former girlfriend, possibly. I’ve tried doing that when taking my own temperature, and it didn’t make any difference. A thermometer is a tiny object, in an adult sized rectum. At least for many people.

My Mom or Gram never did that once it was placed. My doctor's nurse never did either.🌡️

No my mom or the nurse at the doctors office never turned the thermometer they just inserted it and left in alone

When my mother took my rectal temperature, I don't remember she ever turned the inserted thermometer. She just held it, sticking out of my butt.

But, when she stopped taking my temperature, when I was 13, my parents gave me a brand new glass mercury thermometer to take care myself of my temperature. And. I quickly realised it felt so good to allow the thermometer small back and forth movements as it was registering.

Later, I remained a virgin till I was 21 and unfortunatelly, my first girlfriend, Christine, was strongly opposed to rectal temperature and never accepted to take mine, saying ''I am not your mom''..

I had to wait till I met Maria, my second girlfriend, four years later. She was exactly the opposite to Christine, a medfeter and a rectal temperature fan. She had set the rules for our relationship. There was a guy in our neighborhood, I think his name was Norman, who finally went off the deep end and killed his mother, and left her body to rot in the attic. When I was a child and had my RT taken. I was never asked by anyone if I wanted it adjusted in any way. It was inserted and just held there until it registered. I had no say in it. There was only one time at the Pediatrician's office as I was struggling and crying as usual when my mom asked me if I wanted her or the nurse to hold the inserted thermometer. Needless to say I screamed out.."nobody"!! Didn't make any difference.

What would be the purpose, in a real setting, of turning it in the rectum?

@shygirl17 I don't see any reason except perhaps trying to trigger a bowel movement. (I was told that when I was little, my mother sometimes triggered bowel movements by inserting a thermometer.)

@shygirl17 Oh, I don't even recall it being done to me, I was told about it later! Mom, in later years, no longer used that method, and instead used glycerin suppositories.

I got enemas as a kid, usually after having my temp taken rectally, by mom or gram. 🌡️

When I was a kid, the thermometer was inserted in my rectum and just kept there until it was time to read it. Never had it turned or twisted while it was in me.

When I was in my teens and started inserting the thermometer solely for sexual pleasure, that's when I started turning and twisting it.
