Of all the anal sex and play that I've participated in (which isn't very extensive, especially by zity standards), there has never been any enema done beforehand. It depends. When I have anal sex with my wife, I really don‘t care if she has taken an enema before. Unless your planning for some deep anal play, an enema usually isn't needed.
