Women having Nocturnal orgasms

There’s a thread on men having wet dreams. Any women here have nocturnal orgasms? Any men have a wife or girlfriend that have experienced this? Open to men and women’s comments. There’s a fair amount of literature about women having the equivalent of “wet dreams”.

Nocturnal female orgasms are very common. I have them three or four times a week. Most of the time I can't really remember the details of the dream but I can't recall the general topic when I wake up in the morning. Most of my sexual dreams do end in a nocturnal orgasm of some sort. Obviously I don't leave semen pecker tracks on the sheets like men do if they have a nocturnal ejaculation. In my case I can easily tell that my dream caused me to have an orgasm because I lubricate and I am wet down there when I get up in the morning. Quite often I will wake up during the dream and find that I am fingering my clitoris. I don't really know if I always finger my clitoris during a sexual dream that results in a nocturnal climax.

I have never really figured out what triggers me to have a sexual dream on a particular night. When I was very young I don't recall ever having sexual dreams. I think they started when I was about 10 and began menstruating. Back then my dreams tend to focus on masturbation and sex play with boys my age. Once I started having intercourse my dreams became more graphic and very intense, almost always ending in a climax. I have noticed that one of my triggers is recent intercourse. On nights that my husband and I do the nasty, I usually have an intense sexual dream. I don't think I would want a psychologist to really try to make sense out of many of my sexual dreams and their underlying meaning. Details about sexual dreams are not a topic of discussion except between the most intimate female friends. Those women that I have discussed sexual dreams with including my mom and her mom all seem to have some similar threads that are often very perverse and unsettling:

Dominance, submission, BDSM -- rape, forced oral or anal penetration, impregnation by someone other than their husbands,

dominating their husbands

Lesbian Play - Involving friends or complete strangers

Consensual sex -- With other men, husband watching you, watching husband having sex with another woman

Interracial-- Big penis desires, impregnation

One of my recurrent dreams over many years involves watching my mother get fucked by her tennis coach. She did have an affair with him when I was a teenager but I never saw them doing it! Sometimes I dream about having sex with him after he finishes with my mother. My mom and I Together with the tennis coach never happened but it's a recurrent kinky dream over many years. Another recurrent theme in some of my dreams is voyeur type thing. If I'm attracted to a couple we might meet at a party I will often dream about watching them having sex or having them watch my husband and I getting it on.

Yes, I've experienced this more than a few times, over time. I've also had orgasms without ever touching my vagina...just mere thoughts or images that pass through my mind, when fixated on them, can get me aroused enough to orgasm. Anthony doesn't understand it, but neither do I! Haha, but I do know I've got a very active imagination. 😅

I'm very visual. It’s like I can envision myself in any situation and physically feel those feelings in real time. Similar to watching a movie that evokes a specific emotion like sadness; in the movie situation, we can relate, so we cry. Hope that makes sense. I've also got photographic memory. Not sure if that's related 🤔

According to Kinsey back in 1953 - 37% of women between 18-53 years old have experienced nocturnal orgasms, with the highest rate supposedly in the 40's to mid 50's range. My wife is not aware (or just can't remember) having any nocturnal orgasms - but she did dream about sex. Often she would wake me up in the middle of the night very aroused and want (read DEMAND) sex. It didn't take long for me to get fully awake and erect and obligge her. Makes me wonder, how many wake up and don't realize they have had a nocturnal orgasm - just that they were aroused?

When I think of a nocturnal orgasm I think more along the lines of what @Dita descibed - waking and realizing that you had an orgam in your sleep, or being awaked during an orgasm. Closely related is a hot dream like my wife had that got her excited and woke her up to masturbate or get one's spouse to engage. Makes me wonder, how many wake up and don't realize they have had a nocturnal orgasm - just that they were aroused? From what I've read, night time dreams and arousal seems just as common for women as for men - (no real basis for this - just IMHO)

Also as a young teen I would secretly wash & dry my panties sometimes cause I couldn’t bear the idea of my mother seeing the state of them in the morning. Were those nocturnal orgasms? I don’t know but something was happening down there!

I used to have them as a teen when I went on vacation with my family. I would never have enough privacy/time to masturbate and I guess my body needed the release. I would wake up having an orgasm. I always worried I made noise, but I usually woke up in silence with everyone asleep, so maybe not.

I have though when it does happen, its more usual for me to wake up on the edge of cumming vs having cum. It's happened but I usually wake up before climax - and yes I usually finish myself off before going back to sleep. Hasn't happened in a while.
