It's very well documented in lots of other posts here that I absolutely love the smell of my diaper pail when it's full of my wet cloth diapers / training pants.
This started when I was young and discovered the intensely wonderful smell of younger girl cousins' diaper pails, then when possible I'd try to sneak into the rooms of friends' younger sisters and smell their diaper pails.
Then I'd keep my own wet "makeshift" diapers (usually towels, layered jockey shorts, folded blankets) in a plastic garbage bag until washing and loved that smell.
When I was about 20, I dated a girl who lived with her sister and a niece who still was in cloth diapers and the diaper pail was in their bathroom. I'd go there at night to watch TV and make lengthy trips to the bathroom to get myself off smelling the diapers. I did this so often that they probably thought I had some sort of bowel disorder. LOL.
It wasn't until a few years later that I lived on my own and was then able to finally buy myself a real diaper pail! It was the typical round one with the thing in the top where you could put the "deodorizer cake" (which I never used, I wanted to smell my diapers).
We got rid of that when my kids were little, we didn't want them to find it and ask questions (this about broke my heart but it was the right thing to do).
Once they were in their teens I bought a new one, this time a white "large kitchen" size garbage can. It's not as obvious as an actual diaper pail but serves the same purpose. I've now had this for over 15 years and have never washed it, letting it absorb the wonderful smell.
At times it has been decorated with plastic stars and Disney Princess stickers. Recently I bought some vinyl "sticker" paper that allows you to make your own with a color printer, and soon I'm going to make one in baby pink/blue that says "My Wet Stinky Diapers" with a picture of a big diaper pin underneath.
I love my diaper pail. A diaper pail is, in my opinion, the single most humiliatingly babyish thing an ABDL can own. It sits right there for anyone who finds it to see and smell and know right away that you're a diaper-wearing big baby. This is why I go by "DiaperPailPat".
One more thought--it seems that ABDL content is now all over the internet, pictures of women / men wearing diapers, all stages of use, all sorts of places. Photos of baby nurseries, stacks of disposables in the closet, etc. But you almost NEVER see photos of full diaper pails...???
