Nurse helps the doctor, a shame for me, why so embarrassing ?

first of all I have to say that being examined by only the doctor is a very normal situation for me. I dont care if doctor is male or female but I prefer female. Had so many real doctor hands on my penis and that much fingers in my ass of doctors and nurses hahaha I cant count anymore. But, I hate it when a assistant/nurse/helper/chaperone is also in the room with us. I am very shy and i feel much much more embarrassed if she watches. monday is again a proctologist appointment. I feel free and relaxed when he is alone with me, but when one of his 3 nurses is assisting, I have much more pain and hate that situation very awkward for me.

Question is: WHY do I feel so? Do you also feel like this? Why is it so umcomfortable when a third person is in room? alsways speaking of real exams, not role play. Especially when assistant is female, is way more embarrassing. 1 doctor - no prob. adding a nurse gets horror. Why?

I can't say for you . I can only say that I myself have been nude in front of so many doctors and nurses in the past year, It really doesn't bother me much anymore.

All last summer I had nurses coming into my home and the first thing pulling down my pants and underwear checking my catheter and bathing me. Mutiple Doc's and nurses holding, examining my penis and catheter.

Take a breath, relax, let it happen, It will be over soon enough. Try to pretend it's just one Doc/nurse with four hands, It will be over soon enough.

Yes I also had a lot of intimate exams with urologist, proctologist, skin exam, but the point is I have the problem when I am alone with 1 doctor, I prefer females or the nurse alone maybe for clistier. But my big problem is when the doc has an assistant / nurse also in the room. Thats too much for me, be naked for 1 person, everything fine, but female doc + nurse and only me in room as 1 patient I cant handle. I started a survey and many dont like to show in front of 2 people in examination room. But why? especially when nurse is young, horror for me.

Why don't you tell your doctor you're uncomfortable with other people in the room - nurses, chaperones etc. - and you'd prefer them not to be there unless it's absolutely necessary?

I have had several procedures which had assistants in the room with the doctor while I was awake. Several years ago I had a sigmoidoscopy at a teaching hospital. The doctor asked if I would allow some students to watch. I agreed and several students soon entered. The were more interested in an upcoming party than what was in my ass. I have had two unsedated colonoscopies with two female assistants watching. They were allowed to ask the doctor to check something they saw on the screen, thus, giving that institution one of the highest ratings in the country. My latest procedure was a Urolift in which the doctor was assisted by three young female assistants who prepared my penis and watched through the whole process . Since I was in the lithotomhy position they got a great view of my genitals and my anus. I have posted on these and many other procedures and operations in greater detail throughout my posts. So no, I am not embarrassed by having assistants in the room with the doctor.

I think it's just something you get used to. When I was at the dermatologist last summer she had a female assistant then when she was going to skin my penis to look in there, another female showed up to watch making it 3 of them. A few months ago I was in the hospital overnight. A female showed up to check my back for sores and put on a pad. She asked me to loosen my belt and said you may as well take the pants and underwear off because she had to check me all over before they would let me get in the bed. She left me standing there naked for about 10 minutes while 5 or 6 girls finished cleaning the room and getting the bed ready. None of them were my nurse or her assistant. I really didn't care if they wanted to look at an old man and his little wrinkly thing. The nurse finally came in to get a "sterile" urine sample which required her assistance. The first time a nurse did that she just had me stand up next to the bed and she grabbed my penis, wiped it, skun it and wiped it again and put it in the sample cup. Then she said "I know you, your'e the crossing guard" So now she knows me even better. I wonder if she thinks of that when she passes me with her kid in the car.

When I was admitted to the hospital, I had to communicate a lot with students. Even rectal examinations were carried out in their presence. Nobody asked my opinion since I was still a child. Mom signed all the necessary papers. I felt humiliated, embarrassed, ashamed. The girls looked at the naked boy with interest, not with lust or vulgarity, but with interest, perhaps purely medical.

I disagree. I'm well into middle age and I am still anxious and embarrassed whenever I go to the doctors. Just being there gives me awkward anxiety. Having an exam or procedure with a chaperone or assistant in the room elevates all my feelings even more. Of course, it's also the highlight when I get home and fondly recall my memories while masturbating.

I have no problem at all with nurses or med-techs who are present during examinations or medical procedures, as long as they have a specific task they are required to do. I have a big problem with spectators who are there only for the purpose of observation, unless the patient has been asked and consented to it.

I kind of know what @Maxim is asking , In the late 60's after a motorcycle wreck , I was surrounded by nurses and two doc's as they cut off my clothes . At first my over riding concern was my soon to be nudity , That was replaced by my very real concern over my "colors" being cut off . If any here know "those" that live to ride and ride to live the destruction of my colors over rode all my other fears . If it wasn't for the fear of the loss of my "patch" , I would have had to deal with actually real crap that was going on . Maxim relax , Don't let things get weird , Take a breath , It will be over before you know it . At the very most , At the very worst , some nurse might tell another nurse that you have a nice penis or a cute butt .

There weren't a whole of female doctors in the '60s nor were there too many male nurses but now there are. So my question is if a female doctor examines a male, does a nurse have to be present?

@Ddell2 My female doc never had any spectators in the room for my exams. I think it's more a matter of hospital - or facility - policy whether or not to include an observer. Here in the PNW the rules are:

"The medical provider must offer to make a trained chaperone available who can be present for any: Genital and rectal examinations regardless of gender; and. Breast examinations for patients who identify as female."

Some offices here have a sign on the wall saying you may ask for a chaperone - I guess that meets the intent of "offering" to include a chaperone. I have never been asked if I want a chaperone.

So you say that its possible that only the dermatologist will examine my skin and the second woman can leave the room if I ask? I thought I have no chance? Like I said had so many exams rectal or penis but most of times alone with doctor or female. I hate that beeeing watched while in a embarrassing situation. dont want spectators.

in germany we have no hospital gown, any female doctors examine male patients also

Dematologists I've seen have a nurse or aide in the room to take take notes electronically. The ones I've seen have their backs to the exam and are simply taking notes. You can always ask to not have them in the room - but that would ultimately be up to the doctor if they want someone else in the room as a scribe, a chaperone or whatver. If you're really uncomfortable - you can always refuse treatment.

Thank you for your explanation. All my doctors have someone in the room with me when they examine me even my OBGYN and she is a woman. I am sure that the laws or rules differ from state to state.

Besides being in the room to assist in the exam, some chaperons are there solely to observe that no untoward activity occurs. They are there to protect both the Doctor and the patient (although I believe more the former to prevent law suits).

If you ask that no chaperone be present - that just might raise a flag.

Hm Ive made some experience with my proctologist.

Everytime when I am alone with him I feel good and relaxed.

No pain thorugh the exam. As soon as a nurse is with him (I had 3 different women) I cant relax and his protoscope hurts a lot and bleeds.

Or if 1 nurses frees me from my catheter, its no problem, but when there are 2 nurses it hurts a lot to free me from the urine catheter.

I get cramps when a third person is in room. Be very shy.

Have no problem with male doctor, female doctor, nurse, but at derma skin exam I know that these young doctors always use a chaperone in the office.

So I have a lot of anxiety and embarrassment. Often I speak silly words or tremble or get pain in stomach.

Its a different to only show penis or anus or show compeltely naked. I hate it.

Thats why I started the survey. Answers were that most people dont like it to show when other people are in room.

The only time that I had a nurse present while I was nude, was during a visit to the hospital. I was sick and in physical pain. I was just happy to be treated, and didn’t have any concerns about my modesty. The nurse was pretty and friendly. I even noticed her firm and shapely behind. After I left the hospital, and recovered at home, I was still thinking about her. I seriously doubt that she found me attractive and desirable. For her, it was part of the job.

Makes me think about those cops TV shows. Although the law says otherwise they nearly always call for a female cop to pat down a female they are arresting but if it's a female cop arresting a male she usually pats him down herself.

I just recently had an EKG done on me. I had to go to top less for the female nurse. It was kind of exciting but I was pretty perturbed only because she wouldn't allow my husband back with me, for God knows what reason! Also, I found out they charged us for an STD test that I specifically remember telling them NO to ugh. We're married hello! I'm thinking in the future, maybe I should go with male doctors overall, maybe a male nurse as well but I'm sure they're not as common. I don't know 🤷‍♀️

The derm I saw (my first time) had a female assistant. She sent her out to get the liquid nitrogen for something she wanted to freeze.aaaabefore she left the derm mentioned looking under my foreskin. When she came back with the nitrogen she had another female with her who stayed for the foreskin exam. I couldn't determine that she was there except to watch my foreskin exam. Maybe she was one of the office girls who wanted to see what the peeling of a foreskin looked like this being the USA where there aren't a lot of them.

I've never had any male or female examiner worry about having a chaperone present.

Get in touch with your insurance company and explain the situation. Also explain it succinctly to the office manager of the practice. Let them know that you have contacted your insurance to refuse payment. If payment has been sent, tell your insurance to demand reimbursement from the office. That will get their attention.

It wasn’t embarrassing for me , but I had to see a urologist and it was a female who came and got me out of the waiting area. Well anyway I went with her and met a male physician, urologist . She was a student doctor.

Anyway he gave me a DRE in front of her explaining it as he did it, then had her perform a DRE under his watchful eye.

Early on, especially as a youngster, I was not necessarily focused on the nurse being there during an exam. Surely a parent was present so the nurse's involvement was minimal most of the time. As I got older, especially from 11 years of age on, the notion of being naked and being examined gained greater importance and more embarrassment. The unavoidable erection became more consistent when receiving a rectal temperature and genital exam. Heck just lowering my briefs was an invitation to becoming erect, which I truthfully didn't understand. Puberty was not something discussed at home. The doctor was the one who briefed me as he went about the exam. The influence of peers and their stories added to my confusion or curiosity about being naked. When I had ejaculated during a rectal temperature while lying on my belly, it was not only embarrassing but solidified the arrival of being in puberty and experiencing normal development as a male. I suspect that this was not unique for most teen boys. Would be good to hear more.

When I was in the hospital for getting my appendix out, another boy whispered to me that he had seen a third boy getting a rectal suppository to knock him out for the operation. THAT got my attention, and I WISHED I could have seen it! To see how much force/pursuasion the doctor/male nurse used; how much of a fight he boy put up; what his face looked like when he stopped resisting; how he struggled against falling asleep....

@ maxim. It’s okay to express ur level of comfort and discomfort. Everyone is different. My recommendation is to ask caregivers to have only one at a time unless absolutely necessary. Usually gender exam doesn’t need assistant. Take out or insert catheter is one person job

I’ve never had an exam in which the nurse has stated in the room. I remember an ex gf would sometimes have her exams with a nurse present to help even though her doctor was female.
