School gym locker rooms

Showers where required in my Jr.high and high school days. I was always very uncomfortable showering and changing clothes in open locker rooms being straight.

I know why it was so uncomfortable and feeling like I didn't belong there recently. I didn't know I was having Trans dysphoria at the time. Now that I know and understand all those feelings and not belonging from yesteryears was from my dysphoria. I'm currently MtF transgender that's lesbian.

I was in middle school at the end of the 70s and then high school in the 80s. We were never forced to take showers. I did when I was a senior, but only a few of us did, and I did my best not to look.

In middle school we had to change into gym attire and the most I saw was classmates in their tighty whiteys. I had chest hair in middle school and it was always interesting to see who else had chest hair or a happy trail. At that time they started to eliminate "shirts vs. skins" in favor of pinnies, so male chests were not on display like they might have been in classes in the 1960s.

We had mixed PE classes and many activities were played with the girls (probably another reason for pinnies and not "skins.") I do remember fantasizing about what it would be like in their locker room. Almost every guy wore tight white briefs in my day, but judging from bra straps and waistbands that slipped into sight, the girls were wearing lacy bras and panties in different colors. That excited me.

I was in Jr./Sr. high school in the 1980s and we still did shirts and skins, even if we were sharing a field or indoor space with girls. But I was in a period of slowly shifting sensibilities. When I started to have swimming lessons very young, which were done at the high school, the high school boys still swam nude. That had ended by the time I got to high school but I had an older cousin who had done it.

In high school, I was afraid to look not because I didn't want to see what the others looked like, but because I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable about me looking and, of course, because I didn't want to be labeled as queer. So, instead of a free buffet of beef, it was always a stressful time for me.

I do remember as a freshman seeing some of the older guys who were finishing up from the previous gym class. I was shocked to see a guy with hair lining is butt crack and then there was the unplanned sight of a senior's dick. I saw it without trying, but looked away quickly.

The one freebie I will recall for the rest of my life was Coach Ross. The coach's office had a large window into the boys' locker room. I, along with two of my classmates (we were busy combing our hair in front of mirrors that afforded us a view in the coach's office) paid close attention to Coach Ross as he slowly, painfully slowly, undressed. First he was shirtless, then he unbuckled his pants and I recall how they sagged, yet still covered his butt. I assumed I might catch a glimpse of his underwear and that would be it. We did see his white briefs as he lowered his pants and then, much to my delight and beating heart that I was sure could be heard by the other two boys next to me, he pulled down his underwear. I could see his bare ass. It was such a privilege to see that which is always hidden. I happened to notice that his door that opened into the gym was open a crack. Would I see more if I walked by that opening? I knew I had to see. And I did. I left the locker room and entered the gym, walking slowly by his door and there it was. I saw his dick. I SAW HIS DICK!!! I also noticed he had either a birth mark or a hickey on his thigh next to his dick. It never occurred to me that he could see me checking him out, especially as I walked back and forth a few times, taking in the rare sight. After more than 55 years, I know this is a memory that I will keep forever.

So, back to your original question...I never looked intentionally, but I did catch a few naked classmates and upper classmen. One of my classmates (the only one to do so) showered after gym class. Given his living situation, I'm guessing he didn't have a shower at home. Anyway, one time during our senior year he walked out of the showers, soaking wet, and hard as hard could be, laughing as he swung his erection from side to side. I have no reason to believe he was gay. He was just very proud and enjoyed showing off.

Going through school in the late 90s though early 2000s, showering after gym was not mandatory. Locker rooms had showers available, but I never saw them get used. At some point everyone at least peeked and saw they were open rooms with shower heads down two walls. In higher grades, I heard that athletes in football or wrestling used them, but I was far from athletic. That didn't stop me from wondering what it'd be like to be nude with all my classmates.

We began changing into gym apparel in 6th grade, meaning strip to our undergarments and change into shorts and a T-shirt. This was strange at first, being just shy of nude with classmates, but it quickly became normal. Plus, we had the open showers just a few feet away to remind us it could be worse. Even through we still had undergarments on, it was still interesting to see the different bodies and development over the years. But I definitely didn't notice this because there was no way I was anything but 100% straight, right? Though knowing the girls were changing as well on the other side of the wall was an exciting thought, and I'm sure the topic of some self pleasure at the time.

Fast forward to my early 30s... I had been in nude locker room situations less than 10 times, always changing quickly, but not without making a quick, secret peek around. I say secret because I was trying not to admit I was curious. But my wife and I joined the local YMCA, mainly for swimming. Upon entering the men's locker room (18+), I was taken back to the school locker rooms and the open nature. There were 6 or so rows of shoulder high lockers with benches in between. I realized I had no option but to pick the only vacant row and strip nude to put my swim shorts on. After quickly doing so, I headed to the pool, passing through the locker room of men in various states of undress, but not without a few peeks. Last, I had to pass through the tunnel of open showers, with one man showering nude. At this point I felt a bit of a thrill, realizing I couldn't help but wonder what the other men looked like nude and how we matched up. I could no longer act like the glances weren't on purpose. After the swim, I decided to make the full plunge and took my first ever shower in an open locker room. This was yet another thrill, knowing it was my small penis's turn to potentially be the recipient of glances. After wrapping my towel around me, I headed back to my locker, only to realize my row was no longer vacant, with a guy in his mid 20s changing. The final new experience was removing my towel and changing nude, directly next to another nude male doing the same. I couldn't help but look at his penis and notice how much larger he was, feeling a stir when I realized he probably noticed the same.

I've since realized that I enjoy seeing other males nude in the locker room and knowing I can be seen as well. The mental size comparison is enjoyable, though I almost always come out smaller. I can't go to say I'm beyond curious, as I've never after upon the curiosity. Along side that, I find it interesting that the ladies' locker room mirrors the men's, and can't help but fantasize what's going on in there.

I don’t think I ever had to shower in middle or high school but we definitely changed and people definitely looked at each other

The showers at school were for me a great opportunity to see the other lads in their naked glory, particularly the fit chaps

I agree with @Yolo. Great chance to see dicks in all styles, shapes and sizes. Managed to control erections too.

We had to shower in high school (late 80s) as we all stunk to high heaven if we didn't. It was a big gang shower ... we all had pubes and different sized dicks by then. One guy who didn't look like he had started puberty was mysteriously never in the showers with the rest of us. I always wondered if he had some kind of excuse from his doctor or his parents.

A few of us with smaller dicks when soft even joked about being in the "small penis club."

In the 70's we had to shower. I got a full on boner once and everyone pointed and laughed except "Chuck" and he told them to never repeat this to anyone. He was the captain of the wrestling team and could kick everyone's ass.

Chuck invited me over to his place to talk about it. Let's just say not much talking took place. He had the biggest cock I'd ever seen and that hold true even today. I measured it! 8" of veiny meat and thick. We sucked and swallowed each other twice that afternoon.

We got together often to repeat those fun times.

I still love sucking hard cocks.

Had to be. It was the impossible dream made possible, along with all the challenges of not making it obvious that you were drawn to male bodies, to asses, penises, pecs, legs, to the suggestions of men in tighty whities, to date myself here, How to hold the moment, lock it away as an image in the brain.

I was a freshman and he was a junior. His locker was directly across from mine. He had sandy blond hair and a surfer dude vibe. The first day of gym class I noticed him right away and instantly became obsessed. After gym class we went into the locker room to change. He stripped down and displayed the most amazing ginger body hair I had ever seen. A combo of sandy blond and ginger has been a fantasy for me ever since!
