Does the type of underwear affect how you feel about an exam?

I have been wondering if there is a psychological relationship to the type of underpants or panties that one wears and his/her feelings about receiving an exam? My theory is that the more adventuresome one is in his/her selection of underpants, the more confident one is and prepared for exposure.

I always wear briefs to exams.

I love sitting on the papered table in just skimpy underwear and a paper sheet as I wait on the dermatologist to enter the room.

My GP's nurse never tells me to get undressed for a physical. But I still strip down to briefs and a t-shirt.

I try not to wear anything overtly sexy to a medical appointment. I do choose something newer and flattering but more like my nice day to day panties than date night panties.

I guess since I wear jockstraps to exams, I'm plenty prepared for exposure. Though with my new doctor, I can't be confident I'll actually be exposed. At least with my skin exams, I know I'll be on display.

I generally wear boxer briefs. For play exam usually tidy whites as it brings me back to when I was a kid. My last play exam we did in two parts a pre exam with a school coach. I wore old underwear that had a hole in it I refused my temperature taken and coach ripped my underwear off. Second was old underwear an playdoc cut them off. It was all prearranged but very exciting.

I'll wear what I normally do, black or white short boxer briefs/trunks. More coverage than briefs, but short and tight enough not to leave much to the imagination.

My wife wears plain panties even though the nurse is unlikely to see them. On the last smear, she wore a skirt son only had to remove panties, but ther was nowhere to put them as her handbag was the other side if the curtain. She ended up screwing them up in her hand but had a panty liner in them so was very embarrassed as it was impossible to hide the completely.

For myself that would depend upon the exam, for a real exam, of which ive not had many, i prefer to wear (preferably new) white briefs as i did as a boy, although i have worn loose boxers on two occasions, for a play exam it would depend on what the doc requires, but i feel the oposite to the OP for me i am much more at ease in traditional underwear, though for any exam the heightened anticipation of what is to happen is the nervousness i crave

All my exams start in diapers go to catheter and chux until cystscopy then back to diapers on discharge .

I’ve always worn briefs so that is what I wear and if the nurse or assistant says to put on a gown I will even though it usually comes off. Occasionally I have an erection before the briefs come off or down.

I have always worn classic Y-front white briefs for physicals even though they are not my underwear of choice for daily wear. I like the fact that they cover very little and remind me of early physicals which led to my feelings about exams. They are also boyish and unstylish and further the power shift.

I wear my cloth prefolds and rubber pants whenever I see one of my doctors. I told her some years ago I like wearing diapers and decided to wear them full time. I had to assure her I wasn't wearing for any medical reason to avoid unnecessary exams, etc. My wife and I go together most of the time for our various visits with our docs. She helps out if I need to be changed or if my doctor or nurse want me to remove my diapers for the exam. Often one of the nurses will help my wife change me or unpin my diapers and when that happens I often have an erection. My wife will apologize for me, telling the nurse that I often have erections when I'm changed and not to pay any attention to me when it happens. She will also tease me in front of the nurse when they find out I wet my diapers. My wife enjoys embarrassing me when I've wet my diapers. The nurses also laugh when she does that.

I generally have worn whatever underwear I happen to be wearing at the time. Younger were briefs either the classic or then colored. Then as I got older I started wearing loose boxers so I would wear those. Then on to boxer briefs. Sometimes I will wear briefs that I would wear for running or hiking.

I guess that if I’m thinking about it I may pick out one of the less boring pairs that have some type of color or pattern just for some fun. But I can also say that I have never ever had anyone ever comment whatsoever on the underwear that I happened to choose. The more important thing for me is that they are clean.

Clean underwear is good, unless you’re making a disgusting statement…or just creepy…

Tighty whiteys when I had school medicals, but we all wore those. Now I wear white briefs as it makes it feel as I going through those type of exams again. Even when I don’t need to undress when I go to the doctor, I wear them.

Always wear colorful men's bikini underwear, but on exam day I usually wear my black ones.

I wear clean, nice panties to an appointment. Nothing sexy, which I don't have many of, but not the period panties from back in the day (those have been disposed of years ago.). I don't want to gross the doctor out or give a negative appearance.

I like to wear brightly coloured underpants so that's what I wear when I go to an exam.

To mix things up a bit, I've got some brightly coloured Levi trunks recently, red, blue and green and worn them in play exams at home. The next time I have a real exam I'll wear one of the them at the docs.

A few years ago I wore tighty whities to a couple of physical exams because my mother was coming with me and I wanted to remind her what it was like when I was a kid and she would come with me.

I only wear boxer briefs. But I don't think it would change anything when I have other underwear.

I wear boxers, nothing fancy or complicated.

As a child, I wanted to be bought underwear - shorts. I saw some boys like this and they seemed to me to protect my intimate parts of the body from prying eyes and something like a model of adult life, as they were worn by adult men. However, they only bought me panties.

. Usually solid colors, mostly white, grey, navy blue and white with blue stripes, they were the most common in our stores for some reason. Although there were other colors, there were definitely no drawings of cars, cartoon characters or balls. Moreover, in swimming trunks, on the beach, I felt quite normal, but in the same panties, at the doctor's appointment, it was very embarrassing. Not as much, of course, as when I had to shoot them, but still. And now, when I go to the doctor, especially if to a woman, I prefer to wear them in order to experience, at least for a short time, these childish experiences of embarrassment.

I agree 100%. They also remind me of my physical exams of my youth. The memory of being instructed to undress to my undershorts by a nurse and then having her later see me wearing only my white briefs. The embarrassment I felt is central to my medfet.

I always wear boxer briefs. I don't think it changes much because sooner or later, I will have to remove them for the genital exam.
