Well... I historically skipped this topic because being auscultated at my annual exam (in the states) was always expected, never anything wild, just a very comfortable thing. So today I went for my first "exam" in the EU. We basically went over lab results, and discussed diet and exercise. SO, now I can say that my last auscultation from someone else was about 2 years ago from my American PCP and I never thought I'd miss it so much!!
Just last week I was ausculated during a heart ultrasound auscultation. Laying on my side ausculated with the ultra sound sensor watching my heat pound away on the monitor. They did a bubble study which was fascinating to watch!
I went on a date with a doctor, who knows about my fetish. We met online on my fetish profile, which looked interesting but not really exciting for him. But we sort of clicked and met up. We went back to my place and when things were getting hot, I asked him whether he wanted to see my Littmann stethoscope, to which he agreed. As he was holding it, I suggested he could try it, and so he asked me to lift my shirt, and then take it off completely. He then asked me whether I knew how to use it and said that I should show him. So he removed his shirt and I auscultated his heart. This was very pleasant for me. And I think he liked it too.Other than that, I think it had been my GP about 6 months ago. And there was another playdoc/friend a few months ago too.
I was listened to multiple times on Wednesday this week. I had a cardiology/stress test ECG at the hospital so had to be stethed, prior to, during and after the ECG. As the hospital is a teaching hospital, I had not only a nurse and trainee nurse but also a dr and trainee dr, so everything was done twice and very thoroughly.Thankfully all was okay, so yes it was enjoyable despite the medical situation
The last time my heart was listened to was at my checkup back in March. The doctor listened all over my chest and back. It's always been one of my favorite parts of going to the doctor.
Yesterday at annual follow up with cardiologist. He listened over my shirt unlike the doctors when I was growing up. We had an older GP who didn't believe in gowns and stethed everybody bare chested. He did all of the sports physicals for our junior high and high school. The girls who were his regular patients were used to it and knew the drill. They referred to their annual sports physicals as "showing our tits to Dr. Charlie."
I had a thorough auscultation as part of my annual health check a few weeks ago. I won't go into all the details here but happy to chat about it with anyone who's interested!
Last year, during my pre-employment medical check-up, after I had been examined by all the doctors (for vision, hearing, psychiatry, psychology, and an ECG), it was finally time for the doctor who signs off on my fitness for work. She looked at my ECG, which was fine, but my pulse was elevated. When she measured my blood pressure, she was shocked by how high it was and refused to even write it down in my medical chart. A quick 4-to-5-second auscultation followed, right under my left nipple, because my heart was pounding so hard that she said there was no point in listening any longer and that she couldn't hear anything anyway. I explained that I always get anxious at the doctor's, and she cleared me to start working. An interesting experience.
