Interesting and agree. I notice it myself. Like you, I’ve been curious about the ebb and flow (no pun intended) of my libido, and if there are similarities and or triggers that start or end a cycle. I have kept a regular diary of when I masturbate, what might trigger the desire on that day, and/or what thoughts or material I may use in the process. I’ve discovered there is a repertoire to my arousal.
My ‘down’ cycle can be initiated by a number of things: excessive masturbation, partner sex, work, stress, any number of things. Sometimes, it is welcome and other times I worry if I’ll ever get my libido back. Working from home by myself and traveling by myself are usually commonalities when my libido is high.
While I know there are a few phone apps on the market that do similar (allow you to track and log all sexual activity), I have an idea for one that I think could reveal so much to the user about their sex drive, arousal, triggers, fetishes, etc. I just don’t know how to create such an app or know of someone with this skill. If you know of someone or have that skill yourself, I would certainly be interested in a partnership to develop something for commercial distribution.
One challenge with my little diary is that when I think about it, the clinical nature of its purpose and what I’m trying to accomplish with it just makes me want to masturbate more. So, I don’t know if I’m getting a real reading on my libido or if it’s falsely elevated for scientific purposes. It’s sorta like running with music, right? Is it me or the music that causes the endurance and speed?
Love the topic. Definitely worth exploring further. BTW, I do track my partner sex too, and YTD, I’ve masturbated to ejaculation about 10 times more than I’ve fornicated.
