Using Tumeric enemas

Anyone here use Tumeric enemas?

I usually get coffee enemas administered and was wondering what your feelings are on Tumeric enemas?

What is a turmeric enema supposed to do for you?

Curcumin and other chemicals in turmeric are purported to decrease swelling, it is often used to treat conditions that involve pain and inflammation. It is also used for osteoarthritis, hay fever, depression, high cholesterol, a type of liver disease, and itching, but there is no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses.

Concentrated Turmeric is offered orally in OTC capsule form. Perhaps the same “Benefits” can be obtained via absorption through the colon (?). Question mark because I have no idea where in the GI tract it is best absorbed.

Never heard of it. Fill me in.

I have never used tumeric in an enema, but it would add a nice yellow color to ones clear bag. Might have to do some researching to find out if tumeric would be absorbed from an enema. Because it is suppose to be good for certain issues.

Re: tumeric, clear bag, yellow color…. So would urine, but I think I'll stick with a nice (but CHEAP) chardonnay!!! (lol)

@intruder - good find. The article you found compared vanco enemas to turmeric enemas for treating Cdiff - apparently concluding there was little difference between the two, except for cost. Vancomycin is a strong antibiotic that kills off all intestinal flora and is used to treat Cdiff. I never realized it could be delivered rectally via an enema - always though it was oral or IV (our experiences). Kinda surprised the limited study showed turmeric to be similarly effective. One problem with treating Cdiff by killing all the intestinal flora - is Cdiff can reestablish itself and “take the high ground” - resulting in the need to repeat the process. Our experience was it took three tries on oral vanco to finally get the flora to rebalance properly. Don't know what the effects of recreational turmeric enemas would do to your intestinal flora. I think there enough fun things to put up your butt without experimenting with turmeric.

For people with recurring Cdiff, they have been using fecal transplants that have a balanced flora with (what I've been told) very good results.

I had a few and found them to be helpful with inflammation.

Best administed with a Bulb.

Very yellow and will stain silicon bag and tubes.

Make sure you have plenty of towel under and on floor.

They don't feel much different from regular water. The only issue is that they will stain EVERYTHING yellow. So beware.

I prefer turmeric shots orally consumed and ginger ones too. I find they give me a tremendous lift and keep colds and flu firmly at bay. Turmeric can be very dangerous if you are cooking as it can stain worktops irretrievably and must be cleaned up straightaway. I am no longer a fan of esoteric enemas as they stain bags, nozzles, tubing and in some cases can cause damage to plumbing which is an expensive annoyance. For this reason I have fired oil enemas in recent years despite their tremendous pleasure and ease of holding. Its the aftermath of oil enemas which is the literal pain in the ass!!
