If you reply to a post and you start it with

The poster, in this case Forumtester, might newer know that you replied.

But if you reply to a post and you start it with a @mention instead of plain name

@Forumtester, I think the same way blaa blaa.

The poster, in this case Forumtester, will receive a notification about your reply.

I wrote that up. Maybe in the future.
