How many had enemas as a young child?

I remember my pajamas being taken off, laid down prone on my parents bed. The neighbor came over to help my mother start the enema. I fought like he'll but they finally got the nozzle in. I think the worse part was exposing my body. I only remember getting two bag enemas, but they sure had an impact on me, I love enemas.

I’m 70 male. Have distinct memories of mom and gran holding me down at around 4 or 5. Continued sporadically. Part of Eastern European culture. Find them erotic to this day.

I have a vague memory of some enemas I received when I was very young, about 6 years old. I didn't normally get them regularly. I think I got them for constipation reasons. I remember one in particular, administered by my granny in the living room, while my cousin watched TV nearby. We were too young to understand... and I don't think she remembers it.

I remember that they bothered me a lot and I didn't want to do them.

I later received some in the hospital and then at home years later at about age 14. I particularly remember the embarrassment of that occasion. After that I started doing things on my own.

I had some enemas while I was a kid. I was raised in the 70s, enemas where not that common.

I was 5 or 4 years old, I usually had big poop which was hard to push and I remember it hurt when going to the toilet.

My parents took me to this doctor, and I guess he told my parents to give me an enema if I didnt poop.

So I didnt want to go to the toilet cause I didnt wanna feel this painful bowel movement. My parents encouraging to go and I remember feeling observed if I had pooped or not.

One time my mum called me from our bathroom, she was sitting over the toilet lid with a towel on her lap, and next to her was this pear shaped thing, it was red and I had seen it before in a closet. This situation seemed odd to me so I went back to the backyard. My mom called me again from the window but I played deaf.

That night before bed my mom told me she would give me a "perita" (little pear) as she called it, to make me go. I said I didn't wanna go poop. Then my mom called my dad. She told him to raise my legs up which he did and my mom took my pajama pants to my knees. I tried to kick but my dad hold my legs firmly. I started to cry. My mom was not violent but she was determined to give me the enema. She spread my cheeks apart and inserted the bulb, I had a burning sensation. I was crying so hard and trying to kick. She did the same thing again, then she told me to go to the toilet and poop. I said no, no, no. My dad put me over his shoulder trying to confort me, took me to the bathroom and made me sit on the toilet and then I could poop. I felt so betrayed.

I recall enemas probably before schooling had begun, I suspect most from my generation had a similar experience. It felt like enemas were common place.

I was lucky enough to like enemas from an early age as well. By the time my wife and I started our own family enemas were seemingly still fairly common if less discussed and we used them when needed from early age.

I had a lot of enemas when I was a young girl and beyond! one of my close friends that knew I got enemas would like to hear about them because she always was given fletchers castoria for constipation and hated it!

When my mother died (there was only the two of us) I was five and the Doctor put me into foster care with a childless couple he knew, What I didn't know was that he was very much into enemas as were my now foster carers and the three of them would often have Enema sessions; dirty, messy and as I later found out kinky! So he knew very well that I would soon find out what an Enema was. And as I recall he also told them that I had a very lazy bowel and instead of using the potty or toilet I would "hold on" until I messed my pants, and this is something my new aunt said loud enough that I could hear. "Well starting tomorrow he'll be getting his bowels washed every day, He'll be getting a full bowl of Hot Soapy water and like it or not he's going to learn to hold the water in his bowels while the enema does it's work

and that was the beginning of more than ten years of her Enema Treatments. More than unpleasant, but for a five-year-old who often had to be restrained it was an ordeal.

I have already posted the specific answer to this topic question, so in this post, I only want to comment on what @duhwizzard said because I believe he nailed it!

I believe the above mentioned viewpoint is main the villein responsible for the demise of the glorious ''Golden Age'' of enemas.

I have the impression that this is also the major reason why mothers stopped the widespread standard practice of administering enemas to their boy/girl offspring*, and also why enema usage has declined in the medical industry. But rather the medical clinicians will opt first for other less invasive options, and then a Microlax (micro-enema) second-last, and lastly a fleet enema. Undoubtedly, the cash-hungry pharmaceuticals have had something to do with shifting the medical and domestic trend away from enemas in general - sentiments that some Zity members have already expressed.

To be sure, in this ultra-politically correct digital state-of-the-art age, no mother would be super proud if her darling sweet little girl just innocently happened to blurt out to her kindergarten teacher ''My tummy was aching very much last night, but my mommy stuck a hose in my bum and gave me an enema, and it made me do lots and lots of poo-poos, and then my tummy felt a whole lot better.'' - That would be sure to raise an eyebrow at the least.

However, if it was the little girl's biological father that gave her the enema, that would automatically raise suspicions and trigger some kind of interrogation by someone in authority. But if it was the mother's male partner/husband (not the biological father of the girl), that gave the little girl the enema, then before you can say abracadabrahe, he would go directly to jail without any questions asked, without passing "Go" and without collecting the $200.

I was often given enemas when I was a child. This was due to chronic constipation. I was diagnosed with this disease when I was 10 years old. And from that age on, my mom started giving me enemas, and I fell in love with them at the age of 14.

I had exactly zero enemas as a child. Countless glycerin suppositories, but no enemas. I know my mother and father used enemas on occasion because I saw the enema bag hanging from the bathtub sliding glass frame drying. And I once walked in on my mother when she was taking an enema. But I had to wait until I was 34 years old for my first enema.

I got my first one at age 7. It was in the hospital and the purpose was to prep me for a procedure.

I am going to date myself with this comment, but I have to weigh in on my opinion of enema use in the current times.

When I was a girl, enemas were common for a variety of reasons. Not everybody got them, but about half of my friends and cousins admitted to getting them from time to time. We all said we hated them, but some of us, like me, were giving them to ourselves just because we liked it.

When I had kids of my own, the atmosphere was already changing. There were books on raising children that were saying do not give your kids enemas. My two girls got them a few times when needed, but I have to admit I did not give them as often as I took them myself, being aware of the public opinion. One of my daughters hinted indirectly that she did not mind the enema I gave her, the other proclaimed she hated it.

These days, I have to agree with some of the previous comments made. If you gave your child an enema, and they innocently commented to another parent, or teacher, that he/she got an enema it would raise eyebrows. Maybe a micro enema or Fleet might be okay, but if you used a bag, it would be considered abuse. And as previously said, if a stepfather gave an enema to his step-daughter, it would be "go directly to jail, do not pass go."

I believe the general public these days consider those of us who regularly use enemas, for any reason, are perverts. Just my opinion.

I agree with you @Cheryl77177 that the Zeitgeist surrounding Enemas has changed. I am also dating myself since I was born in the late 40's when enemas were given to children for a variety of ailments. Even though common throughout the 1950s, in my part of the world, I don't recall any Dads in the neighborhood doing the honors, so to speak. It was a Mom job that accompanying the segregated gender roles of the time. The expectation was men were the breadwinners(or certainly, more likely to be) while women were expected to be homemakers responsible for child care. For that reason alone, giving children enemas was more likely Mom's responsibility. It is interesting that some members have mentioned Dads or Uncles giving enemas to kids. I am wondering if some special circumstances might have been involved in these cases, eg. children being raised by Dads alone or Mom working while Dad was unemployed and at home looking after the kids? Also, there is evidence that gender roles have changed in many places in the sense that modern day Dads are expected to be MORE involved in child care. However, given the modern tendency to attribute sexual abuse to males doing intimate procedures like enemas to female children, especially as Cheryl suggests in the case of stepchildren, there may be a reluctance for stay at home Dads to do such tasks lest they be accused of abuse. Seems to me that in the 50s and even now some countervailing tendencies occur when it comes to gender roles. Just some thoughts that I haven't completely articulated yet. Any thoughts ???

I remember having suppositories as a young child and asking for them when I was older but not indulged unfortunately. I didn't give myself one until I was in my late teens using a makeshift setup with an aquarium gravel vacuum.

It started with me when I was about six. I think I was nervous about school. My mom took me to our doctor several times about why I got constipated and his standard treatment prescription was soapy enemas until results. I think my mother didn't really like hearing me complain so she let the doc do it. My father, on the other hand,, didn't like paying for that. I recall overhearing a conversation that went somewhat like "I can't keep paying a doctor just to squirt water up his butt and if you can't do it I will!". I was never taken again. Mom's routine after that was every Friday night I'd get two bulbs of ivory soap water held for ten minutes whether I needed it or not. Then expel followed by three more plain water to rinse. Later, when I was about ten, she changed to the bag and had me in doggie. Twice as much and hotter too. When I started to get erections while getting filled, she cut me loose. It's never stopped but I have explored the fetish pretty thoroughly since then.

No enemas as a child for me. My first one was in my late 20’s.

Not as a young child, but started in my teens. I read about them in an adult magazine that I acquired somehow and sounded interesting. So I started self given ones. Loved them and took them often. Wasn't until in my 20's that I had someone to exchange enemas with. I girl, my age, that liked them and we did each other with enemas for a few years discreetly!

I never got them when I was young but I did discover them in porn when I was 12 and wanted to try it so bad so I did it with an empty soap bottle in the shower and was addicted to the feeling from that point on lol. It was when I was 14 I found my mom's enema bag and used it and I really really liked that so I would use it all the time. Then when I was about 20 I got my own bag and still have it. I will say tho since I discovered I liked putting things in my butt at 6 I don't think I would have minded getting enemas when I was young but I don't know if they are super nessasary for a child that young.
