Are you allowed to take diapers in your luggage?

I have come across this online recently and decided to awnser it as truthfully and Honourestly as possible.

Here's my response to the question at hand

Yes is the awnser, in-fact as a incontinent person who has disabilities and has to wear diapers/nappies from time to time on a regular basis through-out the world,

This of cause being prior to this past year and a half and a half this is mainly due to covid-19 travel restrictions and the fact I can't just up and go anywhere as I have committments.

I've actually even done do in the past, when traveling through Hong Kong to the Philippines although I would recommend that you write this statement assuming your talking about adult sized disposable diapers.

The person who owns this suitcase has a genuine medical condition, and is incontinent please don't open the suitcase without the expressed permission of the owner.

Then write on that same note using a A4 peice of paper your flight details and your name and destination I've never had any problems as an adult although some other countries may be more stricter than others

However saying this you can take some in your hand luggage although that's more risky in terms of potential embarrassing situations, because everyone will know you have diapers in your bags.

However if you kindly send calmly inform them you have a medical condition or are disabled, and they are intended solely for your own use then in this case you shouldn't have a problem as most security airport staff are sympathetic because they get alot of

People who are in similar situations and therefore should be kind enough to let you go on your way without any issues.

Although I can't really say anything about the USA because the last time that happened was when I was a baby/toddler back in 1982 when mom had to open her suitcase because it was full of diapers/nappies for myself this happened at Miami.

Yes. Have not done that often, but, have. Fine. Most likely, someone somewhere has seen them. No doubt.

Before the pandemic, my fiancee and I loved to travel, especially to Europe and to various resorts in the US. We always take an extra suitcase just for my cloth diapers, rubber pants and other diapering supplies. I also always take my diaper bag with me on board and of course it's checked at the airport. My fiancee simply explains that I need diapers in case she needs to change me. When we arrive at our hotel or resort, the bell boy helps us unpack our clothes, including my diapers. Usually, we have made arrangements in advance to let them know I will need diaper laundry service during our stay. Hopefully, now that travel is opening once again we'll be able to resume our travel schedule. Wearing diapers full time like I do has not presented many problems, although I do sometimes get a rush and even a little excited when someone questions why an older man like me still wears cloth diapers and rubber pants instead of disposables, especially when its a lady.

I have used adult diapers for any years,I worked in high security Vaults working on cash counting Eqip.,,Takes a hour to got in and about 2 hours to get out They do everything except a cavity search ,,(would have enjoyed it ) in March I retired so now I do wear Diapers when i have a Foley installed sometimes when i am shopping at store ( Catheter plug installed) i have what i call a Bladder bomb, for some reason my bladder will just release And it leaks around the foley,The Diaper will and has save me from embarrassment.

In the US and its territory, the Americans with disability act considers incontinence as a disability, as such.under law you can take one large medical suitcase free of charge .

It must only contain medical supplies dont throw extra shirts socks your camera etc in it ,because it then is not exempt . So going it can be full of diapers coming home souvenirs . International travel does not fall under US law so if leaving from US your covered however wheels up from any other country you are at there mercy .

In this day and age why people don't have needed supplies drop shipped in advance to destination I dont know why its easier. A week before leaving I will have a case of diapers shipped to my destination so I only have to carry enough to safely destinate to reload my stash .

The answer is yes and you do not need to say anything about it. I used to work at our airport here in Las Vegas NV at the security checkpoints. It was not for TSA, but for a company that assisted TSA. The only things you cannot bring through the checkpoint are weapons of any type, even toy ones that will not shoot. Not even a squirt gun. As for in your checked luggage, you an bring almost anything in the way of a weapon as long as you declare it and the bullets are in separate bag. Also, no bombs or bomb making equipment. As for diapers, they are okay in either your checked luggage or your carry on luggage.

When we cruise I use Depend pull-ons and pack plenty, and I would bet half the passengers are wearing the same thing. Never had a problem with it.

I used to work at the airport here in Las Vegas NV USA. One of my jobs was to assist TSA at the checkpoint. I also pushed wheel chairs for the disabled. I had many occasions where there were passengers who were adults and needed diapers.

If you need diapers and TSA asks to inspect one of your bags, you can ask that they do so in a private room, not out among other passengers. They will gladly take you and all of your bags to a private room and check the one bag that they want to check. If all you have in the bag are your diapers, pins that are obviously for the use on diapers and your baby powder or lotion, you will have no problems. However, the lotion must be in 3 oz. or less bottles. You can have several of them as long as they will all fit in a 1 qt. clear plastic bag. As for the baby powder, it must be in the original containers and no more than 2 8 oz plastic containers. No other passengers will ever know what was in that bag unless you tell them.

I think common sense goes a long way here. I guarentee you there will be disposable diapers in my luggage and a few in my carry on. If I got to go to a private room so be it. However 6 Quarts may have a point on diaper related accessories amouts.
