Help me design enema equipment

I need some advice on how to build a specialized type of enema equipment. I want to imitate the functions of colonic irrigation.

There is a difference between an enema and colonic irrigation. An enema requires you to hold in a large volume of liquid for a long time. It can be very uncomfortable. Colonic irrigation involve the insertion of a small amount of liquid which is released in a few seconds. the process is repeated many times until a bowel movement occurs. It is much more comfortable.

A colonic irrigation usually requires a visit to a dedicated colonic clinic. These clinics are few and far between. A visit usually costs $100. There are some home versions of the equipment, but this equipment is very expensive and not designed to be used by one person alone. I am trying to build an inexpensive version of the home equipment.

I would need two rubber bags. One bag is a standard enema bag which should be at least 1 gallon in capacity. I prefer the type of bag where the hose screws into the bottom of the bag. I do not like the open-top fountain design as this is prone to spilling and allows heat to escape. The hose is standard. I prefer a metal clamp. the plastic clamps are unreliable.

I also need a drain bag. This should also be 1 gallon in capacity. I need a larger screw-in adapter with a larger hole through it. I need to attach a larger diameter hose. This is a waste collection bag.

I need a plastic "Y" connector to connect the 2 hoses together. Since the 2 hoses are of different diameters, this may get complicated. I need an oversize metal clamp for the drain hose.

I also need a large diameter rectal nozzle which will allow waste to drain out through the nozzle. These nozzles do exist for the colonic irrigation trade, but it is difficult for the average person to purchase this item. I prefer a nozzle with an inflatable balloon which can be inflated inside the rectum.

The clean water bag would be hung just like a regular enema bag. The drain bag would be hung below my level as I lie in my bed. By opening and closing the 2 metal clamps, I can imitate the function of colonic irrigation.

We built one but the problem was with the nozzle. We bought a nozzle that allows both filling and draining. You fill from the water jug and expel into a close bucket with a filter so there is no smell. But the darn nozzle is so huge that it is a chore to get it inserted. The nozzle is some type of plastic. We probably need to make a custom stainless steel one.

Among my stash of decades-old equipment is a disposable colonic irrigation nozzle. It is a plastic cylinder with an open end. It is about one inch wide. A tool called an “obtruator” was inserted from the back end of the nozzle. It added a “nose” to the front end of the nozzle to make insertion possible. Once the nozzle was inserted, the obtruator was withdrawn from the back end of the nozzle. the drain hose was then attached. I don't know if this product is available today.

I have seen other nozzles intended for draining. they have a series of small holes at the front end. The feces must be completely dissolved before draining is possible.

There was an aluminum nozzle on the market called a “black beauty”. It was not intended to be a draining nozzle. It was intended to be warmed before insertion.

I have and use a professional colonic irrigator which is a Toxigen “Model B” which I purchased on an Internet auction several years ago. Such units do become available from auction sites, manufacturers, or professional Hydrotherapists who are discontinuing their practice.

One such manufacturers is: Specialty Health Products, @21636 N. 14th St., Phoenix, Az 85027. They have a one piece speculum that does not require an obtorator and the waste hose and supply hose come packaged with the spec. The hoses connect directly to it. This is the speculum that I have used for personal colonics from the early gravity system to the present.

I started using colonics in the 1970 using a gravity system. The tubing was 5/8 inch garden hose cut to make a connection between a water source, i.e. the kitchen sink and a tank. A supply hose drained the tank into the speculum through a plastic plumbing “T.” A waste hose conncted from the outlet of the T and emptied into the bathroom toilet. The tube that connected to the bath or kitchen sink then filled a ten gallon tank otherwise known as a plastic storage box from Wally World. I worked a closed tube colonic by alternately open and closing the supply hose while closing and opening the waste hose. I used no valves because I simply doubled over the hoses to control the flow.

The total cost of my makeshift irrigator was about $20.00 which also made it disposable. I used to travel for a living but I took my irrigator in my head and upon arrival for my next assignment, my first stop was the hardware store. I never took a trip without my colonic apparatus "contraption?' because an enema a day keeps the doctor away!

For the “Y” adaptors try your nearest Lowe's or Home Depot. They have all sorts of “Y” adaptors in the section where they sell sprinkler parts for your garden irrigation systems. You should be able to find one there that would be suitable for what you need.

May be it possible to 3D print nozzles, but need to select right filament.

As source we can use Camp Shower or same - 5 gallon bag.
