Do you remember wearing diapers as a child, if so was it voluntary?

Barely. Way too young, was not a bedwetter boy, so, I am fairly sure I was out of Pampers, not early, but, probably on time. In that expected range.

Yes, I remember because that was the time of my life when mom finally potty trained me during the day. I had to wear diapers and rubber pants for kindergarten and I do remember I wasn'i the only one still wearing diapers. But when I started first grade I still wasn't potty trained so I had to wear diapers and rubber pants to school. We lived close and mom would take me home during lunchtime to change my diapers. They were always wet by then. About half way through, mom finally succeeded in potty training me and I no longer had to wear diapers during the day. I did have a few accidents for a while, but no longer wore diapers to school. But I continued to wet my bed at night and mom continued to diaper me every night for many years to come, as I continued to wet my bed until I was 17.

No memories at all. It’s what I’m trying to remember and relive sometimes when I play. (Like right at this moment, freshly warmly wet.) I’m kind of envious of people who remember what it was like to do it when being in diapers was just the normal thing.

I used to wear cotton diapers as a baby / toddler and got potty trained at the age of 3 / 4. I remember my dad always accidentally pinched me with the safety pins.

I remember this as if it was yesterday. I was a night time bed wetter pretty frequently and about age 5 is when things really changed. I was about 5 years old and like I said was still wetting the bed frequently I also was having daytime accidents and my mom was not happy about it anymore. I remember I had wet the bed that morning and she said she cannot do this anymore that she was tired of changing the bed in the morning. By the way my mom was a nurse. Well as the day progressed I was outside playing and I wet my pants so I had went inside and she was very angry. She said you want to be a baby and wet your pants I will fix that. She proceeded to get out cloth diaper and put me in it with rubber pants and sent me back outside to play with nothing over it just diaper and rubber pants. She sent me out with my play friends it was very embarrassing. She also told ,e since I like wetting the bed and my pants I could not use the bathroom The rest of the day. During this same time I had occasional messing accidents as well. This was the beginning of my continued diaper wearing. I then was made to wear diapers at night til I was about 15 . I was also made to wear diapers to school everyday as well for potential accidents I remember that as I started school was introduced to the school nurse and was told if I wet or had messy accident to go to the office to ask for nurse to change me. My mom supplied the nurse with cloth diapers and all the other necessary supplies. The nurse was named Sally. She ended up being very nice to me as she changed mr many times up through 5th grade. I had many wet and messy diaper changes by here and this is wear my true love for diapers began. When I had accidents at school I was always reqhired to take my dirty diapers home with me on the bus in a paper bag on the outside and diapers in a plastic bag on the inside. This was very embarraising as sometimes they would smell from my poopy accidents. When home my mom would always be upset with me and take all my clothes off and send me outside to play in just cloth diapers and rubber pants and not allowed to use bathroom so had to pee and poop in them in front of other kids who laughed at me a lot. My mom would embarrass me a lot even at family functions if I had an issue she would parade me around as her diaper wearing son. Not the funniest time in regards to embarrassment but still today I love my diapers to wear almost 24/7 for all occasions.

I do remember the first time my mother put me back in diapers at age 7 for bed wetting. She had threatened me many times and then followed through. She continued to diaper me until I was 12 and then I had to diaper myself every night. Once done I had to show her I had it on before I went to bed. I have never not worn a diaper to bed since then…..

My favorite memories of wearing diapers as a child all have to do with my mother changing me. I have never been able to get over the thrills and excitement I felt when she would get me ready for my nighttime diapering. Taking me by the hand to my bedroom, asking me to take off my clothes while she grabbed fresh diapers and rubber pants from my dresser, baby wipes and baby powder, my diaper pins and then folding my diapers properly and placing them on my bed for me to lie down on. This was our practice until I was 17 and almost off to university. Mom would have me lift my legs and bottom up and she would carefully wipe my bottom cleaning it thoroughly and then wipe my pee-pee even though by 13 or 14 I started getting erections while she tended to me, and then sprinkling generous amount of baby powder on my bottom butt cheeks, my balls and pee-pee. She was now ready to bring the front of my diaper up to pin the sides together but usually my erection was so big when I was older, she would wait for me to calm down until she could pin the diapers tightly. Mom was always so nice to me when she was diapering me and we felt so close during all of this and often I could see her boobs and nipples when she was leaning over me which tended to get me even more excited. These memories have remained with me all of my life and I spent many years hoping I could find a girl who could diaper me for bed just like my mother did for so long. For so long I thought it was just a fantasy that would never be repeated but I finally met a girl, feel in love with her and began to experience those same feelings.

II was about 7 almost 8 when I last wore an actual diaper that my parents knew I wore, I had issues with what my doctor was calling fecal incontinence, mostly bowel spasms so it wasn't a common thing for me to have a diaper to wear “just in case” I had an accident (which i didn't most of the time I didn't even have accidents, just was lazy and wet them though I did had a genuine issue with controlling my bowels) but I remember exactly the brand was LUVS and distinctively remember they had Barney the dinosaur on them and they were plastic backed. My parents stopped buying them for me after I was pretty much just wet 100% of the time and not messy as I was only wearing them for messing. Only brand I can distinctively remember anyhow. If they would have let me wear them I would have continued too.

I remember wearing cloth nappies and plastic pants under my pyjamas when I was a little boy. I don't remember the normal nights where I wore a nappy to bed, but rather the times where I got embarrassed. Like after having my nappy put on in my bedroom, I'd have to go into the living room and kiss or say goodnight to any relatives or visitors who were there. The last time I can remember this I was six.

My clearer memories are of having a nappy put on for an afternoon nap at four-five years of age. This happened every day when my aunt was looking after me .

Yes wore diapers till I was 4, I remember how soft and comfy the cloth diapers felt and the way they smelled too. I can still smell the laundry soap and favric softner my mom used to washed them. Yes, i wore diapers until i was 5 and was a bedwetter until i was 8 years old. I still remember getting changed at the Daycare i was at.

Yes, I definitely remember diapers. I potty trained a bit late so I remember diapers from that time until I was 5. But mostly I remember after potty training I still wet the bed most nights and had diapers for that. Also had many daytime accidents in my pants when not diapered from not wanting to use the bathroom and holding in my pee or poop.

Yes I remember wearing nappies as a child I was a bed wetter until about 8 to 9 years old and was in terry nappies and plastic pants every night for bed. It was not voluntary at first but after a while I began to like the feel of the thick terry nappies and baby pants.

My aunt, who looked after me, ran a kindergarten and to her diapers, or nappies as I call them were practical and any embarrassment was of no importance. I recall having an enema and then being taken down to the living room in nappies and rubber pants. Ive written about it before so wont repeat. I also remember staying with some of my aunts friends when I was about 8 or 9 and being in nappies in case I couldn't find their toilet at night in a strange house. Yes i got put back in diapers at age 5 for my nightly bedwetting i remember my mom telling me if i dont stop my bedwetting she was going to put me back in diapers she did and i wore them nightly until my teens

I remember by dad coming in the mornings to remove my night nappy. He would put the changing mat on the bed and then take of the rubber pants and nappy and clean me. I can't remember being put into a nappy though. I was in nappies at night until I was 3 and a half years old.

Now I wear a nappy and plastic pants every night and have become night incontinent again.

I recall one time when I was young. I must have been around 2. I remember my aunt buying rubber pants while my sister and I shopped with her. On the way home I bragged how I was a big boy and didn’t need diapers and rubber pants anymore.

The next morning I awoke to find the sun streaming into the bedroom at my aunts. I then realized I was wearing those rubber pants along with diapers. I discovered my diaper was soaking wet and recall thinking it was somewhat uncomfortable. Why this stuck in my head I have no clue. LOL

I had some bedwetting incidents during a summer when I was almost seven. I had gone through all my underpants and had to go without for a day. That evening after my mother had diapered my sister, she said "Let's get you ready for bed". I didn't realize what that was to mean until I asked her if I should just wear my pajamas without underpants like I did during the day. She said "We're going to have you wear a diaper tonight", at which point I looked on the bed and saw two diapers folded on some snap on plastic pants. I told her I wouldn't wet the bed. She just told me to get up on the bed and lay down. When I did, she grabbed my ankles and lifted my butt off the bed and slid two diapers and the plastic pants under me and set my rear down on them. At that point, she paused and said "We better have you wear three diapers". before she could grab my ankles, I lifted myself off and she pulled the two diapers and plastic pants out from under me. She then got an additional diaper out from the drawer, folded it with the other two and said "There, that's better". When I lifted myself off the bed, she told me to set back down. I said "I can help" as I didn't want to merely be passive like a two year old. She said "We're going to do it this way, it's easier" at which point she grabbed my ankles again and slid the diapers and plastic pants under me. She used baby powder and pinned the diapers on and then snapped the plastic pants on. She said "everything looks good here, roll over and we'll check your back". When I rolled over she tucked a little bit of the diaper sticking out from the left side back up under the plastic pants and said, "There. We wouldn't want you to leak". I rolled over and got off the bed to get my pajamas on, embarrassed that I was wearing diapers and plastic pants when I was almost seven. There were three more instances where I was made to wear diapers before I turned eight.

Yes I do have vivid memories of being in diapers/nappies 24/7 as a child and no it was mostly non voluntary for reasons of bed wetting and accidents during the day I was in diapers from the ages of one to five.

And it only became voluntary after the age of 6 although I didn't mind wearing diapers after that age because my brother was still an infant at that time and it felt natural to me to be in them as they kept me dry and happy at night/bedtime as Although my bedroom was right by the bathroom I still had the occasional accident at night, see below.

And yes to awnser your questions, I did wear diapers when I was born and up until I was 1 although I can't remember those years because I was too young what I do remember though is from the ages of 12-18 months on and after that so we are talking about the years 1981~1986, although I did wear them for a short time from the ages of 6~9 due to bed wetting accidents/relapses beyond my control.

During this time I wore many different brands from Pampers to Huggies and even LuV's however I mostly remember the pampers ones simply because they used to have a picture of a baby laying sideways on the box and where in pastal colours or stripes of gold/orange I wore pampers baby dry to ultra plus so I got to see the evolution of disposable diapers from my personal perspective in the 80's

I also had a younger brother who was in diapers from 1986~1990 as an infant so I shared the large value pack of pampers between the two of us,

As although I was potty trained at the age of 4-5, I still needed them at night time and at that time I was still small for my age so could easily fit into baby sized disposable diapers, however that's a subject I have already covered so I won't repeat myself.

@lyric Some people take longer to potty train than others. If someone is a late trainer I would reassure them they will be out of diapers one day and I would work on slowly training them.

I'm sure the lunchtime diaper changes felt good because cloth diapers can be uncomfortable when wet.

If I thought they needed protection after training I would put plastic pants over training pants.

Nighttime dryness comes after daytime dryness. Someone might need nighttime diapers long after they are out of daytime diapers. If someone didn't want to have their nighttime diaper put on after they were wearing training pants or underwear during the day, I would reassure them they will wear training pants and underwear at night one day.

@Chinababy888 Disposable diapers sure have evolved. In the old days people could tell someone was diapered. If they couldn't see the bulk and outline of the diaper under clothes they could hear the crinkle. Nowadays it's often hard to tell if someone is wearing diapers because they are thin and quiet.

There was a time when diapers had a waist shield. The waist shield was a piece of plastic that extended beyond the top of the diaper. It was meant to keep the top of the wearer's pants and the bottom of their shirt dry. When the waist shield stuck out it made it obvious someone was diapered.

Before leg gathers and leak guards diapers were basically rectangular. Without leg gathers or leak guards diapers were prone to leaking.

Before modern materials the only way to make a diaper more absorbent was to make it thicker and bulkier. With modern technology diapers are thin and absorbent.

Wetness indicators are a nice feature on modern diapers. Before wetness indicators someone had to perform a diaper check or ask the wearer if they were wet. If someone was embarrassed about wearing diapers they might not want others to know they were wet so I would give them pants or something to cover up their diaper.

Diapers as a child were a big part of my childhood. I was put because of accidents back into diapers.

I do but just vaguely. Not voluntarily. I remember letting loose with a #2 in that diaper. I had to be no older than 2. The amazing part is I recall few if any other incidents of my childhood earlier than 5. It must have made an impression (pun not intended).

I have vivid recall growing wearing diapers and rubber pants throughout my childhood and teens until I was 17 mostly at night for bedwetting but also during the day when we were out on longer car trips to visit relatives or go to the movies including drive ins, to church since the services seemed to go on for hours, or when we went to Disneyland and other places like that, or the beach or mountains. It wasn't only me, my two younger sisters also wore diapers, the oldest until she was 12 for wetting her bed and the other until she was 8. Our mother had them wear diapers in the car just like me. The idea that we wore diapers voluntarily is a bit of a misnomer-none of us ever gave a thought to not having diapers on when mom said we should. It was a routine for the three us of to be diapered later in the evening while we watched our favorite tv shows before bedtime. This was in the days when we only used cloth Curity type diapers and plastic pants that mom called rubber pants.
