Getting spanked in tighty whities- does the fabric make a difference?

For those of you who get spanked in briefs- does the material make a difference? Obviously, a thinner brief makes for a more intense sensation. But I've noticed that briefs with more polyester content seem to increase the sting. Opinions? And what briefs do you get spanked in?

No experience with this in my childhood, but as an adult I find no difference between the strop being applied to my bare butt versus on my tighty-whities. Either way, it's a very nasty sting! The only method which may cut down on the sting a bit is having the strop applied to the seat of my jeans, with tighty-whities underneath, which allows for a longer punishment session. I had plenty of buddies as a kid whose butts encountered their dad's strop under all the above circumstances and from the howling one heard during their lickings it was hard to believe there was any advantage no matter how dad chose to apply the strop.

I was allowed to keep my underpants up when my dad spanked me outside in the back garden for climbing the neighbour's tree without permission when I was about 10. My underpants were quite thin and they didn't offer much protection against my dad's forcefully-delivered leather slipper. But normally I had to take my underpants down and accept the slipper on my bare bottom.
