Can suppositories be just as effective as an enema in achieving a good cleanout?

I tried suppositories as an adult by using just two of them and waited for a reaction and nothing happened. Needless to say, I was disappointed. My question is can suppositories be just as effective as an enema in achieving a good cleanout? Also, is there a pleasure factor with the suppository when compared to an enema?

Suppositories are no magic bullet,none that I know or have used have the efficacy of enema.

I transitioned from enemas to suppositories for bowel care ,using multiple suppositories with different mechanisms of action,and was disappointed.

I now use oral agents and have better than enema results .the medication is constantly pushing waste to the diaper ,generally after dinner between 6 to 7:30 I will empty anything that's been.in transit (maybe 1 X's per week do I mess in sleep because there's something in the system)

4 or 5 movements is normal, I am constipated so the medication.removes my bodies ability to have any say in retaining stool.so I am much happier with oral than suppos ,they often failed to produce Any results,whereas now ,I don't know when, I will go however I am sure it will happen, the body will always react the same way ,clear the pipes.

A long time ago, I saw some “Magic Bullet” brand suppositories advertised… and lo-and-behold, they still exist. Just google “Magic Bullet Suppository”.

‘’Magic Bullets'' are extremely effective but very strong because they are water based and dissolve into the bowel easier that oil based suppositories causing more cramping. As far as suppositories cleaning as well as an enema, yes they both achieve the desired result of causing a bowel movement but the water in the enema works as a vehicle to remove waste much better that the suppository. They both work in their respective ways.

Suppositories of any type will cause you to have a good bowel movement IF there is some bowel movement close to or in the rectum. If your lower bowel is mostly clear, you won't have much of a result. In my case, I do have a “pleasure” factor as they do stimulate my prostate very effectively.

This is how i found out about enemas, as a young teenager id been plucking up courage to buy suppositories in the nearby towns many chemists shops, after a mumbled request for supps, i was handed glycerin ones, i left and of course used them, the next visit i got a “what sort sir” from the assistant, which threw me, so she handed me a pack of glycerin and what must have been bisycodyl one, so i chose the latter, upon reading the paperwork it said they could be used to replace soap and water enemas in hospitals….thats what got my attention and out with the dictionary again and discovered enemas, the rest as they say is history, must admit they worked, but left me with a burning, aching guts and bum hole, so they werent used much.

Nothing beats a good enema imho. However, if you are constipated, or just want the feel of a suppository being slid up your rectum, then you can't beat that feeling. I have also found that if I am constipated,as soon as the suppositories have worked, the expulsion is very stimulating.

Suppositories will get you moving when needed, but they don't produce the kind of satisfying cleanse that I can get from a bag of warm soapy water, along with a good dose of pampering and TLC.

A couple of suppositories before a spanking or sex can certainly make them a more interesting experience, but there is nothing like a sufficiently full, sufficiently soapy enema held for a good long time. I'd humbly suggest that if you think you're adequately cleaned out after a few suppositories you've likely not been given a large enough enema to understand how sublime it can be when done right.
