How long did your mom or dad keep thermometer in when they took your rectal temperature?

My parents left the thermometer in for 5 minutes, if the temperature was high a suppository was inserted. Usually an ibuprofen suppository.

I have never heard of an ibuprofen suppository. Just aspirin and acetaminophen. I am in US.
