Not at a party, but at dinner while traveling alone.
I had gone out to eat alone at a nice restuarant in Vientiane, Laos and while waiting to be seated, a nice looking man asked me to join him and I did. The conversation was going pretty well. He was asking good questions about me and actually listening to the answers. But after a short while, towards the end of dinner, his tone started changing. He started becoming very controlling, saying, "This is what you''re going to do! And he started telling me or rather commanding me to move from my hotel to an apartment, look for a job with an NGO (non-profit gov. org), he'd give me a list, etc. Weirdly, he gave all of these commands while looking down at his plate, never once looking me in the face.
My eyes grew wide as he continued to eat and give me a list of to-do items. Fortunately, he only knew my first name and not the hotel where I was staying. He demanded my phone number and I refused to give it to him saying I wasn't comfortable giving my number out to people I just met. He actually was nice about that and gave me his number ordering me to call him the next day. I tried to pay for my part of dinner but he refused my money. I wasn't sure what to think about it. He had a car and offered me a ride to my hotel, but I begged off saying I was going to the night market before going back to my hotel. He kissed my hand and left saying he looked forward to hearing from me tomorrow.
I went to the night market and wandered the aisles checking behind me to make sure he wasn't around and then took a car to my hotel. Fortunately, I never saw him again.
Very weird vibe. While I've come across pushy men in the US, I've never come across someone like this ever before or since.
