I don't remember going to the doctor regularly - like I took my kids - it was more like if/when I was sick or if it was required for vaccination or school or something. I mean, of course I remember going but it wasn't like the 6 month physicals people get now. Maybe it was yearly but I'm not sure if it was.
I have memories of both being entirely naked and still having panties on. Some of you may have read about a, I consider, inappropriate exam I had around age 11. I use that as a turning point in my attitude towards the doctor. IE before that exam, my going to the doctor and his looking at my bits wasn't a big deal. As a kid, my parents had a harder time getting me to keep my clothes on than they did getting me to take them off. I enjoyed being naked. It wasn't sexual, or at least I didn't think it was. I just liked the feeling and had no problem with people looking at me.
I can recall times where, as part of the exam, the doctor pulled down my panties for 'a quick peek'. I don't think it was at the end of the exam, but it's not like I remember that stuff in great detail anyway, that was 50+ years ago. I don't recall them coming down very far or it taking very long. This usually happened with me laying on my back on the examination table.
I also recall times where I was completely naked for my exam. I never had to go frog-legged but I do remember him using his hands to quickly pull my vulva open. That didn't last long and seemed to me entirely unremarkable.
Around age 11 there was the exam where I was asked to entirely disrobe and he pulled the stirrups out of the table. I still remember the sound that made. I've written about that in detail elsewhere.
After that, my attitude about nudity changed. I didn't want to be naked in front of him and I was afraid he was going to examine me like he had again. We changed doctors not that long after, maybe a year or 2. I did see him again after that exam and was required to get fully undressed, though he didn't do a pelvic.
My new doctor required me to undress to panties and did a quick peek as part of the exam by pulling out the waistband of my underpants and taking a quick look. I'm assuming he was checking the state of my pubic hair - ie did I have any and how much. After I developed breasts I was allowed to keep my bra on too. I didn't get a pelvic again until I was 16, almost 17 and asked to be put on BCPs 'to help with my acne'. I was very apprehensive the first time the new doctor did one, but it was no where near as unpleasant as the first.
I have no doubt at all that my first doctor sexually abused me. It explains so much.
