I have been curious about this myself, but in lieu of this have been receiving testosterone replacement therapy for the last 6 months, as well as sublingual cialis, just as needed/desired, from one of the "as seen on TV" vendors.
I have had excellent results and my intermittent ED/delayed ejaculation has fully resolved. My libido has also increased exponentially, though not in a way I would call abnormal, and I now achieve daily spontaneous erections even without the cialis, just like I used to.
I did go to see a urologist before trying this method, and my complaints / concerns were dismissed. The 38 year old male urologist suggested I try "different techniques" to achieve orgasm. I found that insulting since I've been having successful orgasms by multiple methods for longer than he's been alive. I'm quite certain the AMA party line does not support testosterone replacement, the obvious concern being the increased risk of cancer in older men which is probably why all of a sudden these 'clinics' have mushroomed, clearly A LOT of people are not content to watch their sex lives dissappear as they age.
The Low Intensity Shock Wave therapy seems to work for many men and it's beginning to receive the study and endorsement of certain members (pun intended) of the urology community too. It is logical that stimulating regeneration of healthy blood flow to the penis without medication is a good idea. However, they DO charge a lot of money for this treatment, and the device they use can be purchased online for about a tenth of the cost of the treatment subscription.
So I can see both sides of the issue. My own treatment is $200/month, plus $175 for 10 cialis troches, which I cut in half...but the subscription price also includes monitoring blood work and consultations as well as the medications, so it's not unreasonable. I guess it all comes down to how much is it worth to have satisfying sex in your 60's...it's worth it to me.
All the staff at the clinic I visit is male, though they have had two women there as well in the time I've been receiving treatment. One of them had a urology background and not only took my concerns seriously, she was very helpful with suggestions as to how to maximize the success of my treatment. She also knew the urologist I had seen and was not at all surprised by his dismissive attitude.
I'm sure most of the older straight men here on Zity like the idea of attractive young clinical women focusing their attention on our genitals, including most definitely myself but I'm actually just happy that my wife and I now enjoy sex several times a week just like we did when we were younger. Whatever it takes, I say.
